Have an 09 ss tc with 1700 miles. I was driving right now to work and when I went to put it into 2nd gear it would not go in... the car will not drive in 2nd gear 4th gear or revserse if u try to put it in any of the gears I just mentioned and let go of the shift *** it goes flying to neutral. If u hold the shift *** without letting go in any of those gears and u are pressing the gas its as if u are in netural and u are reving. Please help

 

theres been a few people having this problem.. u should get a good response.. i havent had the problem though... i believe its a problem with the shift linkage

We have a Warranty for a reason. This hasnt happened to me, but I have had 1 problem and it was fixed in 1 day under Warranty.

 

Roll pin is sheered. Take it into the dealer they can have it fixed in a couple hours or so. You could even do it yourself if you pick up a few pins from the hardware store.

 

happened to me, you bent your shift cable, its bullshit! Warranty will cover it though

 

just dont worry about it . Its on gm,its their problem not yours

 

Well, him not having his new car working and having to take it right back to the dealership is a pretty big problem for him..........I would think this poor level of quality would not be acceptable...........

To the OP, sorry to hear about this and make sure you take the car right to the dealership.

 

took it to the dealership.. car is under my name in the title. couldnt rend a damn car need to be 21 and im 20 rofl. calld my parentals to come to the dealership to sign off on the rental. they said " im not authorized to use it" so i hop right in 2 feet from the dealership in a gay. regular cobalt lol this car makes me appreciate my ss lol

 

The dealer dindt give you a rental? i found a dent on my ss before i took it off the lot and had to take it back in 2 weeks later and then gave me a rental no ?'s asked and im only 20

 

he got a rental but his parents had to take it as he isnt 21. sucks but even rental car places require 25. But my body shop gave me a rental at under 21... meh its usually up to the dealer because it uses your insurance when you sign the paper work.

Your best bet is to drive your parents car and let them drive the rental incase you get into a accident...it may void the insurance on the rental unless you are under your parents insurance still...idk better to be safe.

 

dont matter, my dealer owns about 20 cars that they use as rentals. When those are out, they go to a car rental place. I've gotten a few of their rentals but one time they were out and couldn't get me a third party rental b/c i was only 19. The guy that sold me the car pulled a car from the bay, put mine in, and said if i was there longer than an hour, he would pull a car off the lot. but it was my fifth problem in a month

yes it does matter, its by dealership. I have had 1 dealer not do rentals some do. They all get reimbursed by the car manf. but some dont do rentals. So if that happens you can go rent and the manf. will reimburse you.

 

I had to rent a regular, power-nothing Cobalt when mine was in the shop too! I hear you! Someone pulled up to me on the pass. side and wanted to talk, I had to reach over and roll down the window!!!
