I have an 09 sedan ss/tc and it has the boost guage in the a-pillar already. If I got these parts that are listed below does it install on the a-pillar or does it go somewhere else? How hard can be to install this if it is plug n play? 6 hours for the dealer to get it in seems a little ridiculous.

20778524 $448.35 RPD Unit (Later part number)
25860281 $16.10 Cover
25860279 $17.25 Bezel
15827871 $48.80 Molding
25947708 $390.93 Harness

The RPD doesn't fit in the sedan. It comes integrated with the column. I know...

I have already tried the RPD in an '08. It is a fairly easy install and all readouts work. The problem is the RPD defaults to metric and is switched by the DIC. The '09-'10 BCM is different which is what ultimately controlls the RPD. I had the delaer on the phone with GM and they couldn't get it to work (switch to english). I sold it to someone with an '09 and it worked perfectly for him. The sedan and coupe pillars are different and the RPD is part of the pillar assembly. The only other thing to try is to get someone with a '09-'10 with the RPD option and hook up to their system and let the BCM set it to english and hope it stays that way once unplugged and moved to the '08.

hey man! im trying to put an RPD into my 08 cobalt SS! so far. u are the only guy that i have found who has been successful in installing the RPD into an 08 model. Is there any advice or instructions that u can give me on how to install an RPD. I saw the thread about installing an RPD into an 09. Ive been told that it is differernt to install into an 08. If you know of a site, blog or thread that would help me, id love to see it. Or if u have any pics from when u did the install id be really love to see those too.
Thanks for your help

Back from the dead.

Thank you SO much for finding the Mouser connectors. The only other I could find were BWD and they wanted $120 for ONE CONNECTOR!

If you find the right dealership that gives you a deal on parts the RPD [P/N: 25784528] should only be $200. (Thats right around employee price)

I know it's a old thread but I have updated the pictures since photobuckets 3rd party hosting screwed the links. I left the original links on the post just in case something messed up in my end.
