Well it's like they do all this research and keep hearing the mention about HPTuners so it builds up this trust factor with that Brand Name. Little do they know that HPTuners DOES NOT provide their customers with tunes, training, certification, or anything! Some other tuning software companies require proof of knowledge or industry references before they will provide you with the hardware, but HPTuners just asks for $499, so anyone can have it.

Your HPTuners tunes that you write would in theory be completely different than the ones I write, and so on. So everyone out there is capable of different potential. Also, not just the tune, but how well the tuner can interpret the scanner information to relate back into customizing the tune is probably even more important. If I GAVE you one of the base tunes that I use for various setups and you slapped it on someone else's car and walked away (and I am sure that this has happened 100's of times since many of the people on here who claim to tune and can't were originally tuned by me or Term or someone else and then they resell the tune to other people for fun) the tune would not perform as well as intended because so many other factors need to be calibrated for it to work as intended.

There are also a lot of one-trick ponies out there who can only tune one type of car, and only tune it one type of way. Chances are they are just copying someone else's work.

Through the years I have spent so much ridiculous time learning how to master various softwares and engines. I will be the first to tell you that I DON'T know everything. But what I do know is very powerful. I've worked with KPro, Cobb, SCT, HPTuners, ECUFlash, and some other runty programs too and have seen many different types of ECU strategies. That type of experience doesn't happen over night, and it gets better and better with time (so I'd like to think).
