Actually that's about normal for most single piston caliper setups. From experience, most inner pads wear faster than the outside pad. The problem with the SS/TC isn't this uneven wear, but the fact the inner pad wears out in about 8k miles and chews the heck out of the rotor. I've seen OEM pads that have an ultra aggressive compound (which doesn't necessarily translate into better braking performance) which grooves up the rotors in about 3k miles.

Not quite. The inner pad (the one closest to the piston) generally does wear faster than the outer pad. In extreme cases, the e-brake might not be adjusted properly and/or the sliding pins aren't lubricated.
The problem with the SS/TC is that the pad wears out TOO quickly (8k miles or so) and is chewing up the rotors. That is NOT normal.

The GM dealer will give you some BS about the grooves not being deep enough, but point them to this thread and the NHTSA complaints to see if they can do something.

This is my solution:
R1 Premium SS/TC Rear Drilled/Slotted/Both Rotors
I'm at 23k miles, so it's probably too late for me anyway. When things wear out, it's a great excuse to upgrade while you're at it.

Yes but if the problem is within the E-brake system and the pad is rubbing the rear rotor it's going to eat through your more expensive rear slotted rotors just like it did the stock ones.
Right?
Right?

I was told to go F myself by my dealer. I'm at 20,000 and the inside brakes were to the metal. The outside pads still had a quarter inch left. The dealer told be that they don't cover any brake issues. I extended my warranty, when I purchased the car, to 75,000 miles. I now regret even dealing with GM. My warranty is not helping me at all. I don't mind purchasing the brake pads (at a steep $95), but I want the callipers fixed. Something is really wrong here.
Also, when the inside rear pads started rubbing the metal, I lost about 50% of my braking power. This is a safety risk. Our vehicles are primarily being stopped by the rear brakes, not the front. It's really pointless to have the Brembos on the front when they are not taking much of the work load.
If I slam on my brakes, my REAR tires lock up! WHAT A JOKE GM!
I never thought I would see myself on the losing end of GM, but I now realize that the customer (at some dealers) is just a joke to them. I am very dissapointed in GM's engineering and build quality. I really hate to say this (because I love GM), but this is my fourth, and likely my last, GM vehicle.

So I went to my Appt yesterday at a local Chevy dealer to get my brakes looked at. After I argued with the service manager for a while, they blamed my driving, and said that they cannot install my pads I brought, because they were not OEM, and that would void my caliper warranty. They then went to go as far to try to get me to pay for new rotors. I asked them "Can't you resurface them" they said no because they are scored. So After they said it would be 287.00 + Tax to get my car that is still under warranty back, I told them to **** off, and took my car to the VW dealer today, where I get good service. They are doing everything for 90.00+Tax. And installing the pads I brought.
So GM can suck it. They really need to rethink about how they do customer service at their local centers.

Every brand has good and bad dealerships.
