You don't know what "that" is???
Yeah, me neither. Although I have a feeling I'll be ordering an 09 since I'd rather not chance my luck on grabbing an 08 that someone has joy rode the **** out of on a dealer's lot, even if it my friend is the internet sales manager. RPD, USP port, LSD, and no spoiler. I think that's all I require.

You are correct Malachii. The Reconfigurable Performance Display unit is not going to be available for the Sedans. O well.
The only demo of the USB radio option i have seen is people hooking up their iPods to it.....which is lame, cuz everyone knows if you are truly down and hip, you don't have a freakin iPod.
just teasing!
But really, I am assuming you can take ANY USB Thumb/Flash drive (whatever you call it) and plug it into the radio and if you have folders with MP3s or whatever on the thumb drive, you can direct it and play it through the radio?

But yeah, my buddy bought some crappy off-brand cd player/head unit whatever you may call it, he bought it from Wal-Mart for like 125$ and that had a USB slot on the front and he connected his thumb drive to it. Worked fine. Assuming 99.9% likely the cobalts USB drive will support thumb drives.

Same. I got a pretty new HTC Smartphone with a 4 gig MicroSD card in it. That is basically my MP3 player via my bluetooth headset. But yeah.... I don't really listen to much music outside of the car/computer room @ house. When I am out and about, it is usually with a client or family/friends, so I can't listen to an MP3 player much.

Its called the AT&T Tilt.. but its basically the HTC.. don't quote me 8225 or something. Its just like the Mogul in looks. But yeah, the bluetooth will be fun for me... the phone is big and if it integrates well with my 09 SS, then hello hands free talking. Never bothered to get a bluetooth head set for it, but if I am able to just have it in my car, that would be helpfull.

I just posted another thread about a couple documents on the new Cobalt, one of them being the link below which is to a PDF file of the actual GMPD presentation pictured in rallyracer's first post. The info on the RPD starts on page 14.

you plug in your ipod or iphone and use your steering wheel controls to scroll through your menu and other cool fetures
ok any news on this becoming an aftermarket buy for 08's from GM i couldn't find a thing, i have looked through schematics on Service info and they both have the same wires one in specific a Tan wire on an 09 says UAF which is the RPD option and on the 08 it is the same circuit wire and color and goes to the same place on the ECM.

Wait! My smartphone has a MiniUSB- USB2.0 cable that came with it for PC-Phone transfers via activeSync. Wonder if that will rock in the USB radio! EUREKA!
