I have an old log from last year when I did a top speed run, got to 157 and noticed my ECT was 238*F and climbing. Head gasket went bye bye lol. Needless to say, up til that point it was still pulling decently

Also......I think the size of your spoiler is a factor in top speed as well. The HiRise spoiler creates enough drag to effect the top speed .....there was a magazine test awhile ago that showed down force in LBS at different speeds .... and that it effected the top speed runs they were conducting ...... I'll try and find it.

With flux capacitor mod I've heard they top out about 88 mph.

On side note hit limiter at 155 in mine. And it felt like it had a little left.

For sure, more downforce = better cornering and a lower top speed essentially. Perfect example is when Top Gear UK tested the Koenigsegg CCX. When the car had no rear spoiler its top speed was 245 mph. But when they put a spoiler on it, the car posted a faster lap time, but its top speed was reduced.

Yea, how dare he compare our cars to a shitty DSM eclipse that prob only had the same power our cars are putting down on the stock turbo WITH his nitrous oxide shot, LOL!

on the stock lsj trans with enough room and power you will hit 188 and go no more. idk how much the lnf trans differ but dont you guys have a higher final drive. so wouldnt the stock trans on the lnf be a few mph's lower vs the lsj? idk but i did take the gear numbers from the lsj combined with the stock tire size etc.. and calculated 188. correct me if im wrong. this was 2 years ago. but i def did 1st-5th gear calculations and came up with 188. i myself have only seen 160 going down to wildwood, nj. aka childwood

Yep the LNF has a higher gear in it but it does the opposite ..... it's a longer final drive 3.82 vs SS/SC's 4.05 .... the 3.82's are mechanically capable of a higher top speed than the 4.05's at the same RPM.

The roads don't feel so smooth at that speed. ...
If you come to NY, you will find out that 150 on the autobahn feel much better than 50 here

i did 142 racing a lancer one day. really no need to go any faster than that.. i know what the car can do so why risk dying trying to bury the spedo.
