I've been useing my e-brake at stop lights aswell since I bought the car with 168km on it, now has 3700km and I have brake squeal on 30% of my stops. I thought maybe useing e-brake my rotors would stay newer longer. Front rotors are wearing nicely but the rear have "X" like marks on the surface...

im done talking to the dealership they keep playing the "you caused it" card. Im just gonna fix it myself. They are grinding really bad now and my car is at 18500. No way in hell the rears wear out faster than the fronts. The techs at my dealership are complete morons. Everytime i went in before they said "thats just the way the rear brakes wear on this model." Are you kidding me? I didnt know that normal brake wear causes the rings of saturn on my rotors and an obnoxious grinding sound. /rant

I bought Hawk ceramics on my own dollar, installed them, and lubed the slide pins. I love 'em, so far. Never rode on a pair of ceramics before this.
Thanks to all who highlighted this problem in the making.

rear brakes.
I have a 4 DR 09 Cobalt SS. I heard a grinding noise coming from my rear brakes within 15k of owning the vehicle. I'm just about to install EBC performance rotors and ceramic pads. Reading the forum I don't know if I should have dropped $300 on rotors and pads if it's just going to happen again. I'd take it to the dealership but they only guarantee 12k miles, and they charge an arm and a leg for brakes. I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. Any suggestions?????
I did file a complaint with the NHTSA.
