weird things on my cobalt

Since I've moved to Texas my cobalt hasn't peaked or gotten anywhere close to 15lbs of boost. Now here's what I did changed the oil and was going to just put the stock replacement filter but wanted to be cheap and brought the specter air filter from oreilys problem was no where to put the maf so I moved it to behind the air filter car would stay started so immediately figured that had to be it unplugged it the car idled high for a minute or two than settled drove it sound better than it has got on the highway did a 3rd gear pull top of 3rd 15.7lbs 4th peaked at 18.5 so my question is how is how is it possible and will running it without the maf hurt it

You need to install the maf sensor.

When you run a car without the MAF sensor, the computer uses fuel maps for assumed air values. This means it won't be able to adjust for any real changes, and you run the risk of running lean or rich. Disconnecting the MAF sensor should only be used as a troubleshooting step, not as a solution.

So fix the issue with the car.

The LNF cannot run speed density. The car is running on the most basic tables and should not be left this way. You are asking for a blown motor.

I would first put the intake back to the way it was to confirm the intake change was the cause.

Try disconnecting the battery to clear adaptations.

Your OP has fail written all over it.

Put it all back to stock until you can do things the right way.

You fool around with the pre turbo intake system you MUST have a tune written for it.

Period.
