ZFR turbo heat wrapping?

I have recently installed the ZFR turbo and have a concern with the amount of heat coming from the unshielded exhaust and O2 housing. I was thinking of heat wrapping the exhaust manifold and O2 housing to cut downon engine bay temps plus the oil feed line runs so close to the oil feed line it concerns me as well. I have not seen really any post regarding heat wrapping these areas and would appreciate any advice. I would hate to do something and find out after that I shouldn’t have done this or cause damage to something by doing it. I know there are a lot of people that have the ZFR and can maybe give their opinion on this idea. Another thing is that if the oil feed line was a couple of inches longer I could get it away from the exhaust and O2 housing.Would it be a big deal for that line to be a bit longer? Any thoughts from my fellow Cobalt members would be aprieciated.

Ive thought about it, but there isnt quite anything there to light on fire or melt,
so Ive never put serious thought into it

xD

If you were tracking a zfr car, id say its a really good idea..!

you can cut the manifold heatshield to fit. as far as the exhaust housing goes you would need a turbo blanket more then likely as the efr shields made are not only expensive but made for the oem efr housing

What about a thermal ceramic coating such as Swain Tech Coatings | Industrial Coatings | High Performance Racing Coatings | Technical coatings to solve problems of heat, wear, corrosion, and friction ?

i will be wrapping my exhaust manifold and 02 housing before they go back on the car, i already wrapped my oil line because its just too damn short and hugs the manifold too much for my liking.

I know the oil line really concerns me cause its like right there looks like it touching but it not. I think about it just driving normally down the road. I want to do something with it. If it were a few inches longer I could get it away from the exhaust. I have the transmission out now prepping to send it to John Powell for the 4.45 gears. I want to do something with the exhaust while my car is down.

I have the Boost resource 6758 blanket. Fits good, Only have half of it secured with springs. The other side is tight enough to not matter. Im going to modify the manifold shield to fit. As far as oil line, this bothers me too, possibly a future mod to as you said, lengthen the line and route it away from the manifold. I see of no reason why a few more inches would matter at all.

I got the PTP turbo blanket and also had Swaintech Ceramic coat the exhaust manifold and o2 housing. The lengthened oil feed line is much better only about 2 inches longer, The turbo blanket does a lot to keep the heat off the feed line. My temps under hood have been drastically reduced and are of no more concern. Had the car Dynoed last week Made 354 HP and 335 torque at the wheels on 93.
