ECM dyno tune results and info
Decided to go ahead and make another post to get somet info out. Just got back from Vector Motorsports where they used my Cobalt for testing their ecm tuning. I first want to say that Kirk and Chrs seemed to be very experienced in the tuning that they did. And they only had the car for about 2 hours.
Car went in with injen CAI and Megan muffler w/ 2.25 portion replaced with 2.5and newly changed synthetic. I believe before the tune it dynoed at 147hp@6400 and 140tq @4400 and in the end dynoed at 159hp@6600 and 150tq@4400. The revlimter was turned up to 7000 from 6700. The a/f ratio was worked on a lot, getting it evened out all the way across the rpm band, stock it had it had alot of spikes and dips. Timing was tweaked a bit, fan kicks in sooner. Car pulls much harder ALL the way throw the rpm band and keeps climbing up to the 7000 limiter. A lot was gained at the low-mid range tq, around 3500 the thing takes off. And mpg went up about 2-3. I'll post the graphs later when i get them.
They are looking for a Stock Cobalt 2.4 to tune and then they said they should be able to start selling this after that. They are located near Detroit so if anybody is in the area or can make the trip e-mail Chris @ chris@whiteautoandmedia.com, you also get a free ecm tune . This would really help get these out on the market. The price they said for the dyno tuned calibrations would be at $399 and they will have a core exchange as they already have a bunch of cores.

Well the way i got things was that they are looking to find a stock cobalt SS to see how the settings from my car work on it and make sure everything is kosher. Not sure about the 2.0, or 2.2 but they did say that they reason they are able to do the 2.4 is that it has the same computer as the new Z06 which i think they were doing work with.

I highly doubt all the work they have done to map out the neccessary memory offsets and scalings (for editing the calibration file) would/could apply to the P12 PCM used in the LSJ or the REALLY oddball E16A used in the 2.2 L61.
Wouldnt hurt to try though...

Interesting post for sure... good numbers.
That's a bit of a drive for me... but I may look into heading out there this summer if they haven't gotten ahold of a stock SS 2.4 by then. I've only got a SRI and I can easily revert to the factory air intake.

Brandon97Z, your statement "it dynoed at 147hp@6400 and 140tq @4400" was that for your car with the injen CAI and Megan muffler on the car?
I'm guessing with the items listed since I know Solstices are coming in around 135HP to the wheels and adding intake+ehxuast has put them about 145HP~150HP as well. If a base engine makes 171HP and dynos at about 137HP that's a 20% drivetrain loss. So say you get that same 20% loss on your newly modded car then the math would imply you're getting ~197HP to the flywheel now.

147 was with intake and exhaut. And all these dyno's were done on a mustang dyno. Went to the 1/8th mi track over the weekend and pulled 3 9.9's, w/2.4 60 ft times, had mad wheel hop. So with some control arm bushings and practice i can sure see some 9.8, 9.7's.

*Update*
I was in error in my statement above regarding the LS7 Corvette using an E67... it's NOT! oops
However the other engines I listed in the above post do use an E67 though (new V6 3.9L LZ9 and the Supercharged Northstar 4.4L LC3)
Sorry for the confusion
