21PSI 100% stock.

Ok I got my car a little over a week ago and today after I tried out my no lift shift I noticed I was hitting 21psi+. Over the last week the car has only seen 16-18psi so I dont know what casing this or if I should be worried. Also after going back and looking at my videos I noticed on the first night I got it I hit 20psi on a 2nd gear pull but after that it has been a steady 16-18psi.

Video from today. Its hitting 18psi then creeping to 21psi.

Video from a week ago.

Some have said it might be tuned but I dont think thats the case I have messed with both the TC and CC and nothing changes.

It's probably all the time hptuned. No tc or cc needed to activate unless its trifecta tuned.

Can't make more power on stock tune, ecu adjusts it back to 260. The only reasons I see for this other than gms1 is u either have a boost leak and the car is making more boost to compinsate or the weather there is causing it, what's ur altitude?

The factory tune adjusts boost levels among other things to always make 260/260.

I read the factory tune adjusted boost pressure to keep you at 260/260 just not sure why all the sudden its doing it. Like I said other than the first night I got the car its always been at 16-18psi. I just don't want to hurt anything if I getting fuel for 16psi but hitting 21psi I could be running real lean. And fyi there is no tune on this car its 100% stock.

And fyi i'm 158m above sea level.

look at your MAP sensor ontop of the intake manifold, does it have 2 10mm bolts holding it on or just 1? if the latter then you more then likely have a GMS1 tune

As I said the car is stock... This is not my first rodeo I know what to look for the car is stock. I am just trying to figure out if this is the computer adding boost and/or something is wrong.

The car runs in closed loop and utilizes a "WB" sensor for fueling. You're fine.

I'd be looking for a boost leak of I were you. If the targeted air load isn't being met and is forcing it via additional boost pressure, you have a leak somewhere, considering your altitude.

The boost may fluctuate. It compensates for atmospheric pressure, temperature, air density etc.

If there's something wrong you WILL get a CEL before too long since you say you are bone stock.

Anyone else notice how it spikes to 20psi and the car still isn't moving any faster.

I turned my wastegate control down for that very reason.

I would definitely log this car.

uhh yeah I was thinking the same thing. My lnf hits 20psi bone stock, but pulls hard and is definitely quicker than that... weird. Im at 2200 elevation and 20° so I dont know if that is normal or not for me but my car seems to run great. Po ever fix it ?

Mine is tuned for 25 but my turbo spikes to 27 sometimes. It just does it sometimes. The ECU will draw more boost to make the power it's tuned to make. There is no definite boost number it should always be hitting. If it needs 20-21psi to make the power it should be making you'll be okay.

Not sure how much quicker you think yours is but mine pulls just fine. Kinda hard to tell in the videos I posted I guess.

And no I never figured out why my boost jumped up to 20ish but after reading a lot of threads I figured it was normal or maybe a boost leak. The car itself runs fine and pulls hard.

Then I wouldn't worry about it, from what I read alot of people also hit 20, and so do I so Idk doesn't seem to be an issue, I like that forester

You would get an over boost engine code if you had a leak

In case any of you were wondering it turns out the car was tuned. But from what I was told it was a crap tune that wasn't much better than stock. Im in the process of getting it HP tuned and it already feels better.

When a car is tuned even a super mild tune like CaRRiED's car was it turns off the learn down feature so it will allow for a higher boost. His DALs were only raised a tiny bit. The tune was 95% stock there was only around 5 tables changed
