Well, yeah, I get that, but don't most cars just use 1 2 and 3, regardless of transmission setup in the quarter? I have no experience there. At the road track you want to use 2 3 and 4 and not have to get into 5. I was close to redlining on the straight in 4th @140 even with the F35 before I upgraded my top end so I could rev to 8K+...
3rd gear with the 3.82 gears I hit redline (7,200) about 40ft from the lights and started slowing down, but still trapped 115 due to not shifting into 4th and losing speed doing it. That was shifting at about 7,000 every gear which is a waste for my power.
With the 4.45's I'm at about 6200 in 4th gear going through the lights at about 112-113. I would have to rev to like 8,300 in 3rd to run it out without shifting. And we know that ain't happening. 1st gear is a bear to not spin off the line unless you have slicks. My drag radials won't even hold it. Slicks will.

YOU will DEFINITELY need a girdled block with going for 600 lol
Ask me how I know. Personal experience, a Gen 3 block will handle 500+....for a little bit. And then your car will force you to upgrade it. :-)
As for the 6 speed, after having 3 our of the 4 transmission options in my car before I started working at ZZP (3.82, 4.45, and F40), there is no comparison. The recommended F40 blows the other two out of the water.
Definitely not slower around the track either (road racing or straightline). The F40s 1st gear isn't as usable as the 3.82s, but not quite as bad as the 4.45, the rest of the gearing has been by far the favorite out of all the transmissions.
Had a non LSD 4.05 in my LSJ though.

I also ran mine there....for a decent while, but it is a disaster waiting to happen. I prefer to nip things in the bud, personally.
Wouldn't recommend it. Gen 2's are known to be ticking time bombs past 450.
