Bought an '08 SS/TC with problems

So I found and bought a 2008 SS/TC off craigslist today knowing it has problems and I'm just looking for some opinions here. I got it dirt cheap, it was listed as needing a new turbo and that the bearings were shot in the turbo. The car goes into limp mode if it tries to boost more than 5 psi. First of all for the price I got it for I can't lose money on the car. I got there to find the car is running a cheap ass intake as well as a BOV. My question is that if this car has a BOV in it and whoever did the work had no idea what is required for this car to run a BOV (I think it's dumb) and didn't do any tuning whatsoever could that alone have sent the car into limp mode when it tries boosting? I happen to have a spare turbo to put in it anyway and want to replace the intake and all turbo piping and remove the BOV. I assume if it was retuned for the BOV I would also need to get it tuned to run a stock BPV?

If it was never tuned for the bov then you wouldn't have to have to retune it since nothing was changed. Do you have any codes?

There's a code for the MAF sensor (The car isn't running one at all for whatever reason) and there is a code with something to do about the turbo. I don't have the numbers at the moment.

code for the maf would probably be the bov on there without doing it right and tuning for it. if I was u, id rip out the bs and go back to bpv, get non bov pipe, zfr turbo, and it will be good to go

Sounds like it was super hack job.

OP get the intake and charge pipes fixed then clear the codes and see if it still won't boost past 5psi

Well here is the rather lengthy list of codes I've pulled:
P1000- ?
C3000- ?
P3138- ?
B1837- ?
P0100- MAF sensor missing?
P0236- turbo performance?
P0113- intake air temp

Side note I took it out this morning and it was boosting to 16 psi then the next time I started it, it was in a reduced power mode only getting 5 psi. I know the hack job that was done with the BOV is somehow part of the problem but just wondering if I got it to actually boost up for a while if the problem is elsewhere.

wow I didn't even see there was no maf, what the hell? maybe the dude runs a ecp tune from trifecta that disables the maf, but I don't see that working. take pics. get a maf, that will take care of a few of those codes. take pics of lower cp and upper cp. and intake and all engine bay. lets see what that retard did. no wonder he sold the car, moron messed it up so bad.

I'll get some pictures for everyone. Unless I'm an idiot and just don't see the MAF on the lower pipe. Either way the BOV isn't right.

The MAF is in the intake, but it's not connected. Idk where the plug end is from those pics.

Yeah, the picture isn't as in focus as I thought it was. There's just an obnoxious amount of couplings and hose clamps used throughout.

throw that lower pipe away and buy a proper one. so many unnecessary leak points. should have 2 couplers not 3. now take pic of engine bay. also u should clean that rust and spray it with undercoat.

yup maf is there but unplugged as stated, looks like bpv is still connected as well. buy new charge pipe, upper and lower, buy k&n Intake. plug in maf. that's a good start. someone looks like they bought ebay parts and threw them on there.
