Bought a new to me SS! need some advice.
Hello everyone!
just bought a 2010 SS fully loaded and unmolested with only 30k on it.
I'm not the kind of guy to keep a car stock so after reading through these forums iv come up with this list of parts. anything im missing? anything I could swap out to save money?
one problem I cant find a solution to is the tune. how do you find a good tuner? im in Toronto Canada and would prefer someone who can actually see the car but if email tune is only solution so be it. but how do i find someone? lol

if you have HPT, there are a handful of renowned LNF tuners on the forums. Terminator2, Blue, but i don't know if he does a lot for others, 09cobalt(i believe). have them tune remotely, they'll send you tunes to upload and tweak from their ends after you log via HPT.

Get the real K&N intake. Not individual pieces.
Also you'll need the 3bar sensors with pigtails to complete your package.
Besides what you've listed I'd throw in a rear sway bar. Really changes the feel of the car.

I would also throw in some trans mounts the stock ones are bad Nevermind with all the extra power you will be making. Ottp or Powell would be the best options for those. Stops wheel hop and helps keep those wheels from wondering under power.

3 bar maps are not a necessity for a stock turbo car. If you're going the route of the stock air box, do a search for ZZP's "how to" for the modded air box. I'd suggest going after the K&N short ram if you enjoy turbo noises

I agree about the 3 bars on the stock turbo, I ran my car without them for 1 yr plus and I only got them because I did a turbo swap and I'm running alot more psi now

We do have a guy in Oakville who did many Ontario cobalts, and there are others in and around our area too
A local guy in Burlington just bought a solstice and needs a tune maybe we can Kevin to come out for tune day, I would be interested in getting a little more aggressive tune myself. I'll pm you Kevin's email

You could do that, or you could come out and have it tested on the dyno and then refine it and test it again before you leave with a smile on your face for your short drive home. This is what I did, SSKev is a good tuner IMO. Remote tuning is an option, this is another

I personally wouldn't pay for the dyno time to get the tune dialed. I would street tune then after it's dialed then dyno. It also doesn't matter if the tuner is in the car or remote tuning. The only advantage of having the tune there is they can help with mechanical issues if the car has any.

That ^ the only other thing I can think of is that in person tuning is a bit faster than with remote tuning but results are the same I strongly recommend kmo43
