Can't shakes P2178
Can't Shake*
Hey
08 SS/TC 100% stock other than HP tuned estimated 280hp@22psi.
I've had the car since this summer and have had the CEL on and code P2178 (too rich) comes on. I've had my tuner adjust my trim levels for me 2 times. It would 'go away' for a few weeks, then the symptoms return and same with the CEL.
These symptoms include but not limited to
Funny thing, the first time I fueled up after having my car tuned, it started normally as it should and didn't take two tries. But this is the only time this happened since I've had the car.
Is there anything else I can do to diagnose this myself? I've read that it may be a leaky injector or a few other things with it. But I get thrown off after my tuner adjusts the trim levels but then the problem comes back. I don't really know what else to do rather than bite the bullet and take it into GM.
Thanks in advance.

- Smell of fresh gas coming through the vents into the car while in stop and go traffic
- after fueling up at the gas station, I would turn my car on and the starter would run for about 5-10 seconds before the engine finally turns over. Always a little embarrassing.
- When I start it the next day, it sputters and sometimes even dies. No problems when I try again.
- If I park in the garage, the whole garage will smell of fresh fuel
Funny thing, the first time I fueled up after having my car tuned, it started normally as it should and didn't take two tries. But this is the only time this happened since I've had the car.

Replace evap solenoid. Bada bing bada boom! Try taking the evap solenoid off and blow into it. If you can, it's bad if you can't it's good. Another thing to try it unplugging the connector that gives it power and disable toe code that pops up. It will run better.

You are a god. Thanks so much. It pays to be resourceful. However, now my car is indicating P0496... Isolated issue?
