Car rich at idle

Ok so my car is running pretty rich at idle, it goes back and forth, a/f goes to 10.9 then stft goes to like -10 to get it back to 14.7 the. They go back to around 0, and after awhile the a/f will go rich again. And so on. Cruzing speed it's fine at where it should be. Could this be a leaky injector? Would explain why my car bogs at start up and smells like fuel.

I has pressure codes so I replaced it and that fixed the codes. The pump is a few months old, the injectors are a year old.

well I hope I'm home when injectors are on sale boxing day. ill double check my turbo gasket, it had a leak, could be bad causing same thing maybe. it seems ok though after tightening the one nut to spec. starting to get annoyed with this thing lately. bad tstate, the fuel issue, bad pump a little while ago, just annoying already. why cant things just last forever. lol

my car did the exact thing you were describing about a month ago, what happened was the 02 sensor backed out a tiny bit on my down pipe. couple turns with a 7/8 wrench and it was perfect again

Definitely try that^

I guess your symptoms coule be caused by an exhaust leak.

Not sure on the lnfs, do they run fine with the o2 unplugged? Could try that

never tried with the 2nd sensor unplugged but I can tell you that when both sensors are getting different readings you have a very unhappy lnf

Let me know what you find Tom, mine is doing the same thing and we have similar setups. I retuned the **** out of it, helped a lot. Still only at idle, crazy swings for no reason. Start up has been fine, i raised the idle rpms to 1500 until coolant reaches 130*F then gradually comes down to 850, that was the biggest help on cold starts.

Also bought a huge bottle of that lucas upper cylinder/injector cleaner additive and put that in every tank, also saw a drastic change for the better, so I'm leaning towards injectors either getting stuck open or closed on mine. They have about 50,000 miles on them, seems off that they'd be shot.

Ya I'll let u know, my flex section on down pipe also is leaking so gotta fix that to, maybe that will help.

Today I fixed my car not warming up issue. Tstat oring on the tstat itself was 3/4 gone. Idk how that happens but ya I guess that's why it was staying cold, fluid was getting by cooling off in the rad before the tstat was actually opening

Also, I got a sweet way of refilling coolant on car, with almost no air to get out of it after. Take off the upper rad hose at engine and fill rad.... Everyone knows that one, then when u fill engine, take off the hose from the resivour at the engine so the little nipple is open, fill res till fluid comes out that little nipple. Then close everything and run engine to run in temp, then turn off, I had to add just a tad coolant and it was good. Did the run cycle a few times and it stayed good. Works great

Exactly like that, that's where I got the idea, never heard of it before on here. Except I didn't pull the resivour, didn't need to
