I did WOT gear pulls 1st - 4th from a dead stand still on the Interstate shoulder. I had a passenger ride with me (the wife) and I stopped on the shoulder on the Interstate where there was no loose dirt to launch from. Then I waited for the wife to tell me the logger was rolling, I had a clear on no traffic coming at all, and did my WOT 1-4 pulls taking off from the shoulder. For every fine tune I went to the exact same spot and did the exact same pulls with my passenger helper.
Do this at your own risk, I was very careful and had someone help me.
Best place would be a drag strip to get WOT 1-4 log runs in.

he needs to see some normal cruising and some shifting through the gears hard but in addition to that one of the best logs you could process for him would be a 4th gear from 2500rpm-6500rpm WOT pull (no shifting and no letting off until 6500). This might be tough to get due to the fact that you will need ALOT of open room and obviously a good amount of speed, but this simulates a 4th gear dyno pull and gives him some important feedback that just going WOT in any other gear with less load does not show. No matter how you do your datalogs, after each time he sends you a new tune I would datalog each new tune file and send it back to him for tweeking. This may take quite a few times to get things really dialed in properly.

Yes, obd2 - USB but you can use it for anything OBD2.. Are you thinking of having Vince tune your TA? If so I would speak with him first before doing any logs with your TA.
You can use the cable for pretty much anything else other that just datalogging for Trifecta. I use the cable to generate my own logs (so I can actually view my logs ) for my car, my Ford truck and whatever else I may need.

lol.. umm I REALLY hope you are kidding. You do realize if you ever get dyno pulls done that will be EXACTLY what they will be doing.. You can do 3rd gear dyno pulls but 3rd gear being underdriven (altimately produceing less load) and will give a slightly scewed reading. I have yet to see any slippage from my clutch doing 4th gear dyno pulls EVER.. 5th gear, well that's obviously a different story. If you have an 08 model year you may get some slippage in 4th on the dyno and/or on the street. And yes 08 model years are known for having a weaker clutch.......

Lol so are you saying don't ever do high speed runs in your car? Doing a 4th gear pull from 2500RPM to redline is like doing a quick run from 90MPH - 130MPH ish. Or did I misunderstand you?

wait, i didnt realize the speed was at 90 mph. i ment dont do 4th gear pull at low speed high gear full throttle right away, when the boost hits ur clutch wont like u.

2500rpm in 4th is right around 55mph.. Trust me unless you're making some big torque numbers you're clutch should not have any issues holding going wot in 4th gear at that speed. If it makes you feel any better then start at 3000rpm, about 60mph..

yes it is.. but I think he's refering to the initial load it puts on the clutch when you go WOT in an overdriven gear like 4th is at a lower rpm like 2500. If you're slipping at 6000rpms you've got some serious clutch issues to address..
