It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but at least it's nothing serious. Odd that it busted like that though.

I had ky stage 3. The stage 4 is better if you can get it. 4 puck. Weird as it sounds, but its way better than the stage 3 and thats a 6 puck.

Turbo came back from BorgWarner today. If you didn't know that the compression wheel was damaged you wouldn't be able to tell it ever was. They included new gaskets and replaced a few parts on it. All said and done I only paid the shipping to them. Great company to deal with in my opinion even if it is out of warranty.

That gasket was a new one and replaced when I installed the zfr. Only has like 4k miles on it if that. Still not going to rule out everything just yet, but that's the only thing I've found wrong or messed up do far. Oil lines look fine and definitely aren't clogged or anything.

Is any one else's oil return line that bolts to the bottom of turbo turn black at all? Mine had like a slight coating of black on it but wiped off. Probably just a little oil.

I wanna get a spec 3+ or an fx300.

I like my Spec thus far. It's seemed to hold everything I've thrown at it. 400+ hp/tq and tons of dyno pulls

Most likely unless I can get off a day and figure out if something else is wrong other than the gasket blowing out. It was suppose to be here yesterday or today but now its not coming till tomorrow morning. Its gonna suck rushing it all. Lol.

Ttr I do believe sales it for sure. If not go straight to spec about one.

Side note on my progress... Can't just move the turbo a little bit to put the new gasket on. I started tearing the O2 housing back off and it started getting dark and annoying working with a light. Just gonna wait till tomorrow to rip it all off and put the new gasket in. So far though, the gasket is in 3 pieces and in half. Lol.

Does that mean another ZFR went bad? I didn't read the whole scenario.

It's next weekend actually, 10/12 to be exact. You're definitely more than welcome to join us if you're up for it. We're all heading over to Sonic after for lunch as well so it should be a good time..

I'm 99% the turbo is good and just the gasket blew apart. Only thing I have come across so far. The gasket is completely worthless. Everything I have looked over though looks fine. No shaft play at all, compressor wheel is still clean and crisp, oil lines are perfect and flowing, coolant lines are fine, and when I drove it home sunday, it still built boost and held it. It just had a different sound to it, but definitely sounded like an exhaust leak of some sort.

Yes just a small exhaust leak

Any of you guys have a suggestions as to where I should tap into my coolant for running lines to my EFR.

Can't you just use the spots for the coolant lines from the K04? Or don't you have an LNF?

Small exhaust leak, definitely... While under the car though I also noticed a hole the size of a BB in my muffler which could be the cause of my nasty exhaust sounds during decal.
