Direct bolt-on turbo (ko4 replacement)
#1726
I haven't heard anything besides slower spool and has the capability of more power output. I think with pump gas I could net 425whp. On the ZFR I think 400 is hard to net with just pump gas? I wanna avoid E85 if I can for the same power output. I don't know what I wanna do...

I'd just hate to see you take the "normal" progression that most of the folks in this platform seems to be plagued with.
Install a midsized turbo,
get addicted to the power,
crave MORE power,
invest a bunch of time and money in a big boy turbo setup,
gets frustrated with the results and work involved,
sell car or.... go back to smaller midsized turbo
Like you said to Payam.... stick with what you know works man.
Unless you're willing to really go the distance with it that is.
At least I have a bigger turbo.

I wonder what psi ect it would take to hit 500whp on the zfr with the following mods:
Fueling: bigger injectors, cams/lobe, (5th injector needed?)
Motor: stock block, zzp rods, wiseco pistons, arp head studs, ect
Area47 tuned full e85

I wouldn't do full e85. I don't think you can hit 500whp+ on that gas. 35 psi I'm gonna guess LOL

Yes full e-85 will require a 5th injector at that power level.

Full e85? **** man, I need a 5th injector now to safely go past 25psi and that's an e35 blend. Never mind straight e85! Upgraded can lobe and 5th injector would probably be an absolute must with that sort of fuel demand at that power level.

Well I've been running cams with the upgraded fuel lobe for a couple months now on full e, but going to put the bigger lnf injectors and a 5th injector in also most likely.

Meh depending on the fueling, I sort of disagree. On e35 at 25.5psi I hit 421whp with a 6758 which is just shy of 500bhp factoring in a 15% drivetrain loss.

I think people look at my wr3 graph and forget it's not a 6758, it was a custom letup with PTE Which was planned to be released then things happened which stopped that from happening. Pwerks then switched to using an efr system. Mine is a little bit bigger then the 6758, and spools slower. Although I don't mind cuz I'm really not hammering down hoping to get full spool by 4k anyways haha

Their 'lofty numbered' ZFR car trapped 136mph, much higher than anyone elses ZFR; thus the 500+ doesn't seem out of line.

Sorry but their mustang dyno reads high. GMS1 on a properly calibrated mustang dyno is around 230 whp.

that was an over exaggeration. at 25psi on 93 with hp tuners old beta i made 416whp at 25psi at 6500 with a whole lot of room to grow and make more if i wanted to supply more fuel and boost.
