I'd like my turbo to be louder. I know a lot of diesels and other turbo cara come with a silencer ring stock. I'm assuming ours have them too. Has anyone taken their's out and how easy is it/loud/anoying is the turbo noise after? Thanks!

K&N SRI+Forge Vta. People will know you have a turbo you won't even need to rev high it blows off loud.

Is the K&N Typhoon intake worth the ~$279?

The K&N is hands down the BEST sounding intake for these cars, It's loud and people on the sidewalk do look when you let off the gas

The intake tube from ZZP is reinforced and is very close to a hard pipe. The difference is the restriction in the airbox compared to open K&N Filter

When installing the forged bpv and k&n do you need to do tune?

Kn may screw up fuel trims a bit. Also u wont feel hp gains without a tune.

What do you mean by it may screw up the fuel trims? What does that do? I've put K&N intakes on other cars and never had a problem. I understand that I won't feel any real gains from the intake alone without a new tune (I already have the Trifecta budget tune), that's not really a big deal to me at this point in time.

Have you ever monitored fuel trims on your other cars after an intake install? Kn doesn't mess with them too much but some have ended up with CEL's from being too lean or rich.

No, I haven't. I've also never gotten a CEL from any of the previous cars I've had K&N intakes or drop in filters on. Would this be a reliability/performance issue? I don't want to have to pay for another tune since I got the budget tune lol. I just wanted the turbo to be louder!

Dont worry about it, the K&N is the best one for these cars and really doesn't screw with anything... I didn't get a tune after either (though planning to soon) and I didn't get a CEL or anything of the sort and it runs just as great as it did before, just a helluvalot louder

I'm in Lincoln also, I wouldn't mind hearing it with an intake on it since I'm considering going with the k&n eventually. We could even get a couple runs in . I'm hp tuned for e47.

Quick Reply: Does thw LNF have a turbo silencer ring? If so, has anyone taken their's off?
