Been to El Paso and most of the RGV many times and have got 93 octane there. Depends on the station. Been all over this state.

There is not 93 Oct in El Paso..... Trust me on this one

93 Octane in El Paso? - Mazda 6 Forums : Mazda 6 / Mazda Atenza Forum

Does our altitude justify 91 oct fuel in our area? : 240SX Technical Forum

Also I was at goodfellow AFB for quite a while, and only could get 91 Oct there too (san angelo TX)

I have to switch tunes when I go from San Antonio, down I10 towards NM, AZ. I Have to do this because no Gas stations on the south ends of TX have 93. I switch from a 93 tune to a 91 tune with less timing.

I have done this drive off and on for the past 7 years, and do it 2-3 times a year. I just did the drive 5 weeks ago. And Yes, only 91 is avail in south TX. The regular was only 86 OCT, Midgrade is 88, 91 is premium.

Van Horn TX has these same grades, thats where I do my overnight break from the drive.

check this out too, its very informative

Saab92x.com / Octane rating available in Houston

"I've got to drive down to Houston next week and was wondering if 93 is available in the Houston/Galveston area? I know when I've made the drive out west, at some point it switches over to 91 and 93 octane. Then after about Abilene it's 91 Octane the entire way to El Paso. unamused

I would like to leave the 93 octane map in place, but if I'm going to have a hard time find that gas then I'll just flash it down to 91.

Thanks!"

Also Octane rating Vary by region. If one city has 93, the whole city gets 93.

Nice write up. If you don't mind me asking why do you have 2 2009 tcs? Are you planning in selling one?

UPDATE:

I did some pulls tonight in my mostly stock sedan (only mod is ZZP AB Mod)

61-100 in 4.8 Seconds on vinces tune
60-100 in 5.0 Flat on another pull

Here is the evidence.

PULL number 1:

PULL number 2:

My altitude is over 3000ft here and I am only running 19.5 max advance up top. Not to shabby for a 99.9% stock setup with just E85 and a tune.

I am going to the dyno this weekend.

Full E85 is awesome

Good stuff... Did you see the news on HPTuners forums and here about the tuning abilities of HP in the near future? It looks like its going to really be a tuning war soon and we are all going to come out winners with faster cars.

thanks dude you're very much appreciated. I wish I would have sent you my ZZP canned to review. I only have limited experience with it and a dyno. Because you're 2500 ft lower than me I think it would have been better for you. oh well. Thanks for the info I much appreciate it.

That is crazy,
I would dare to say that just tuning E85 is the best price/performance ratio thing you can do to a stock LNF now.

yeah alot of people pay upwards to a grand for 2 MPH. I got 6 MPH from just a tune and gas. Thats like a 50.00 per MPH ratio.

Nope, just gonna shoot for a mid 12 with better tires, and I might throw a catless DP on. I am going for the "less is more" approach.

Soooo.... did I waste money on this HPT seeing how Trifecta performs just as good as BYT?
