Arrow Everyone having issues with gms1 chime in!

Hey,

I'm trying to gather some information so I can take to my dealer about the issues I'm having with my gm stage 1. So anyone who has/ had issues with their stage 1 please post in this thread. Post the issues, what fixed it or if it remains unsolved or even what they might be able to do to fix it.

I wanna get as much info gathered for them so they can hopefully fix my car.

Thanks in advance

Man a lot of people having GMS1 problems .. what I think a lot of people run into is that they get the stage 1 kit installed at some dealership by joe blow who doesn't know wtf he is doing .... 9 out of 10 techs wouldn't even be able to tell you what a intercooler is yet they can install stage kits ...

HP tuners is only 650 new ecu 200 and you don't even have to let dingle berry jones plug in a couple sensors and upload a calibration because that is just way beyond most dealers tech skills ..

What is your problem ????

My problem is that I'm experiencing flutter from my bypas valve when the boost gauge is in vacuum, my car seems to have lost power(really it's hit and miss with the power) it was real bad a month ago and I threw a p0236 code. The last couple of days I've been getting the odd backfire while I'm on the throttle, which it's never done before. Throttle doesn't seem very responsive at times.

Is everything else on your car stock? I've had no issues.

flutter on GMS1 seems common. Apparently you should check the sensor on the bottom charge piping, it has a piece that needs to be trimmed in order to sit flush, it doesnt always get done.

Stock except for chargepipes (which I've checked for leaks) and 3" turbo back.

The lower sensor never did set flush, when I seen it I trimmed the bar on the lower charge pipe. It sets flush now. Don't know if the lenght of time it wasn't flush with the pipe would have done damage to something.

Had the flutter on mine when I miswired one of the 3bar's.

mine was purely installation. Lower MAP sensor needed to be rewired and even had to order a new harness.

Was done by Reliable Chevy, Springfield MO , Service manager was Kyle.

Connection was loose and the harness wasn't snapping into place on mine.

The wires should technically be stripped and soldered together and wrapped.

Also, make sure to cover the wires with loom or zip tie them out of the A/C lines way.

so far so good i haven't verified the dealers install yet but it pulls strong and have had no flutter issues to date so no real reason to check it if it works

That's what the tech did that installed mine. He looked at the crimps that came with the kit, said "I don't think I'm putting these on" and went ahead with soldering/heat shrinking/taping. He also test fit the TMAP twice to ensure he had shaven the boss down far enough for it to sit flush. So far no fluttering on mine *knock on wood*.

Check the vacuum tank below the intake manifold for crackes and leaks.
