Everything working, but car wont start.

Went to start car and it didnt budge. Lights, radio, aeroforce etc all come on and seem fine. I checked the battery connections and its all tight. I'm confused as to what this could be. When I try to start it the car won't make a sound but all electrical comes on. Just drove it earlier today and it was great. Any ideas? Car is a 2008 lnf with 79xxx and I just put in new cam sensors about 8k miles ago.

Did you check the voltage of the battery? Lights can still turn on but it might not have enough power to turn the car over

I'd check the battery first.

Check battery voltage, Check the chassis ground and battery terminals for corrosion. Corrosion creates bigger resistance and stops or slows down current flow, Also if your battery isn't a sealed unit check the water levels in the cells, So you know a good battery should be anywhere from 10.5-12.5 volts

Next possibility is the alternator, I would get cable and another car and boost it. If it starts and you remove the cables and it dies then it could be a bad chassis ground or a bad alternator.

So to help eliminate a ground or alternator, Boost it again and this time keep the cables on while check at the battery what the voltage is the alternator should be putting out anywhere from 13.5-15 volts and therefore charging the battery, If it is then the alternator is working as it should and you have a ground problem.

Hope this helps, Keep us posted

Imma be honest idk what it was but I put it in every gear and then neutral and it started right up. I'm thinking it was the clutch switch.

Could still be grounds or clutch switch. Either one of those tend to be intermittent.

I had the clutch switch issue for a short period. Never replaced it.

Will the car roll start if clutch switch is bad?

I think it should, because the clutch switch just doesn't let the starter energize.

Ttt. Still trying to figure this out. May just get it towed to dealer for them to do the ignition recall.

Could be a security issue. Don't know anything about it though.

Could you get someone to give you a push next time and bump start it ? So we can determine if its a clutch switch?

Also maybe pm Ecaulk or someone who knows more about the switch situation, Also see if you could bypass the switch with a wire or something to help.

Heres a pic to inspect the switch's condition as well, https://www.google.ca/search?q=cobal...JKpnSn8sRtM%3A

I haven't had any issues with my LNF clutch switch. I just know that they can become problems on manual cars and can be overlooked easy.
