Figure I can tell you guys now...

we can do transmission upgrades. we havent done any yet because no ones stepped up to the plate showing what they want to do nor has the interest been remotely high enough. we can do zzps transmissions if thats what people want aswell. hes running a spec stage 3+ with aluminum flywheel.
he went with our basic 2.0 forged bottom end rebuild. no ported head but he got our tensioner and valve springs, oem valves with all the standard stuff that we already included with the long block... kyles not trying to break any records here but whats a solid fast reliable driver. he will get that. the 2.4lnf is probablly going to be a rare breed.
if anyones got questions or cant get a hold of us at the shop(its only dave and i now) feel free to pm me and i will help you get started on your way to a build .

Well, that's fine, just curious. It's not that I need to see around a lot of cars with that setup, actually the less the better, so I will have an almost unique setup. As long as it is proven to perform better than the 2.1 and it is a reliable engine, I rather being one of the few other than a sip in the ocean

I figure I will chime in...haha
I decided to go with the 2.0, because we talked about the options and I figured it was the best route for me. I think I will be very happy with the route that I have taken.
I did upgrade the clutch to the Spec 3+, but still on the stock trans. If anything does happen to the trans I will prolly just have PWerks, upgrade me to something bigger and better haha.
I stuck to the stock valves, really didn't see the need of upgrading..
I think I answered most of the questions asked!

I don't believe they offer one since it's not a highly demanded part. My best guess would be that they would rebuild with the same parts Powell uses to rebuild his. Maybe change something with the gearing if you ask too. Matt and Dave are both good friends with Powell so I could see something along those lines. I'm not 100% sure, that's just my best guess. Matt did also say he would be able to use a ZZP trans if that's what the customer wanted.

That's still a good news that they can rebuild it, the more things I can get from the same company, the better it is. I already have the Pwerks turbo kit and I'll get their block, if they can do my tranny as well it would be great

That's good to hear man! I am very happy with everything I have received from PWerks! Their products are amazing and the customer service is great. I luck out being good friends with Matt and now Dave. It's nice only living 30 min away! haha

Lucky you!!!!!!! I live sooooo far away, but I rather spending the money to either drive there or ship them my car other than having the job done by a local shop. My turbo kit was installed by a guy in Pennsylvania, about 100 miles away from me, and it was a horrible job as far as both installation and tune, in fact I'm thinking to ship the car to Pwerks to have them check the whole car, even before I buy the engine

Unfortunately I don't know neither one of them, but I hope to meet them soon, because that would mean that I'm getting my car to run properly after the mess that BackYardTurbo did. I've being exchanging pms with Matt but I never spoke to him.

Honestly I would say give them a call! Dave is more then ready to talk to potential customers and help them figure out the road they need to talk. Plus they love returning customers! Maybe go with the WR-3 and get rid of that 55/57 ahaha...jk that's a great turbo kit!
#66
Lol. Well, if I get such a block, I was considering a better turbo, maybe the 5858 or the 6262, otherwise for the 5557 I could keep my block and just get pistons and rods. There would be no point to spend that kind of money for a 2.4 engine and then not taking full potential of it.

The difference between the block you got and the one I'm getting is that I'll get the 2.4 with "race" ported head, GMPP neutral balance shaft, ATI SFI turbo balancer, oversized valves, 5th injector kit, aftermarket IM, in tank upgraded fuel pump and zzp cams with bigger fuel lobe. So, we'll see what his suggestion will be as far as the turbo in order to take the engine to its potentials. Otherwise it's useless to spend all those thousands to stay at 500hp

Yes, there are two reasons, one is that if I want to build the engine, minus as well do it right at the first time (go big or go home, that's how I see it lol), the second reason is because I have another Cobalt LNF 2009, same color, which I will keep just on bolts-on and tune for daily driving, so since I have two, I want to make one to the very top and the other one with the stock motor to use it daily. If I only had one car, I don't know if I would get such a engine.

Tell me about it lol!!! But it will be still a while, you know that building such a motor ain't cheap. I would ship them my car today if I had the cash right now.

Thats beautiful. Able to release the compressor mm of the turbo yet? I'm assuming they made it bolt on for the stock manifold? Or is that a custom werks piece too? I've never heard much about these guys but they look like they're doing some nice work.
