Forge Motorsport BPV Review.

I took my stock one off the other day and I did not see any tears but when I put my finger over the nipple and tried to make the diaphram seal on the plastic it would not stay compressed. So, I am thinking that I may have a small hole in mine. I also think temperature realy efects the stock ruber one. In therory it should not effect the metal one at all.

Why would it stay compressed?...there's a SPRING in there which, under normal circumstances (no vaccum source or boost..at rest), will be fully EXTENDED, pressing against the opening from the turbo. It's only under vacuum, that the spring contracts..pulling the body into the seal. Pushing it in and then placing your finger over the nipple doesn't create enough vacuum. In fact, even without the spring in there...I don't think it would stay compressed. The spring is rated at 8lbs force. You need to overcome that with vacuum. At idle/ throttle slaming shut on lifting.... there's 20in Hg, which is 9.82 lbs of vacuum..enough to overcome the 8lb spring. At least that's my take.

The stock one is either sealing, or not sealing. It can't get stuck, unlike a piston (Forge) type, which can get stuck. The stock diaphragm is recirculating air, as soon as it moves at all. Pressure from desired boost + spring keeps it shut (fully extended) when you want boost. Vacuum + pressure differential opens it (shorten) when you lift off the throttle.

Hey guys. I'm working with Forge Motorsport on a group buy. I have to organize it and get permission from the moderators here if they will allow me to do it on their behalf. Mike from Forge Motorsport will be siging up on the forum to answer any questions you will have but will not be able to promote the product because it takes time to become a supporting vendor.
I need you to post or either PM me if you interested in a group buy. i will let you know as things progress.
