Not anymore lol. It was Forty's sky actually. Thing ran 1.7 60-80 and 2.1 80-100. He had to rev to almost 7400 in 3rd to get to 100 on the sky which was not helping the 80-100 time lol.

Ya I can hold the boost past 6500 but it just doesn't have the flow so there's no power up there so I shift at 6500rpm

Received one of my turbos from Matthew yesterday. Will be installed within the next week or so. Still rounding up the necessary gaskets and have new widebands coming too. Turbo is literally brand new... No crack in the divider etc. Upgraded WG canister looks slightly larger too.

Results on the old man's ride (runs an ethanol blend) soon!

When I switched to E I picked up a decent boost in power, just enjoying that for now lol.

It worries me that you've had yours on for a couple months and you already are switching the new ZFR.

Nathan wants 400hp but with the fuel he has on the island he has to run 4° timing on the k04r because it is e0. So he swapped to the 7163 so he can run it very mild on that shitty fuel and make 400hp. If he could get e85 like you Americans I bet he would have stayed

And it's a $1700 difference. You can not compare the 2 turbos

I never felt ripped off with the k04R, there was definitely horsepower gains over the stock turbo. as km043 has stated i live in a place that has 91 octane or less equivalent gas at sea level. i got bored of the power and ultimately had a choice to make, stay with the k04r and add meth injection or go with a bigger turbo and keep things simple. i though it would make more sence to run a big turbo at 60% then to try and push a small turbo for all it has(given my fuel crisis).

Don't forget this is the cobalt crowd, they're mostly cheap bastards who think spending $2000 on a new ball bearing turbo is expensive, so the $600ish for the k04r is still expensive because well my car already has a k04 and I don't understand what holding boost through 7k means

Ya I know I thought that first dyno was good enough on a very mild tune you saw him pick up 20hp+ above 5000rpm

This car made 371/383 and picked up power everywhere on 93 octane. Broadened power band too. If the K04R is bigger, I expect at least 385-390whp on ethanol.

The big gain there was on the topend and the peak came at 250rpm later on dropping to 21psi too! So with the actuator and E there will be great gains when you can hold that 24 or 25psi all the way to 7k

Yep, that's what I liked the most and what sold me on the K04R from the original results dyno I saw. Then these K04+ results really cemented my thoughts that the K04R would be perfect for what I'm after. Power stayed strong down low and shifted/broadened the power band. I'll probably bump redline on both cars to 6800ish.

No reason to believe this turbo won't be capable of carrying at least 370ish to 6800 or so.

Turbo was well worth the wait! Gains were HUGE throughout the PB and peak!

Here's the results thus far. Need to adjust the WG rod for more boost as I refuse to crank on the WG solenoid via HPT past a certain point. Currently sitting at 23psi, 20* of timing and just bumped mid-range timing up significantly (no new numbers). Updates to come after we get the WG adjusted properly. I'm estimating at least 380whp.

Also, ran a lightly modded V2 CTS-V auto and was able to pull 2-3 cars by 125 (No NLS) from about 40mph or so on the stock turbo tune while data logging

All graphs posted are from Virtual Dyno and were run on the exact same road.

Here's the transformation of the car. Please do remember that I use a pretty significant torque modulation strategy or "boost ramp" to try and keep the clutch and transmission happy on ALL of the graphs below.

Pump gas tune was 12* of timing and 22-23psi
E35 tune was 22* of timing but weak mid range and 22-23psi
K04R tune is 20* of timing, same weak mid range and a solid 23psi

91 oct intake, DP and tune vs E35 tune (weight is more because we were both in the car)
