hks bov problems and questions!!!
ok so i put on the hks bov. i took off the tan nipple bpv cover and replaced it with the hahn block off plate. ran the hose from bpv to hks. now dejons instruction say to keep the bpv nipple on there and install a new hose from the black solenoid valve on the intake manifold to the stock bpv tan nipple. i didnt do that i just threw on a block off plate is this the soultion to my werid sounding hks, cel p2261, and compressor surge like a mo fo.
dejons instructions:
1. Remove the hose going to the factory Compressor Bypass valve (locate the tan plastic cap on the turbo above the compressor inlet) See pic at top of this page.
2. Connect this hose to the new BOV.
3. Locate the rear hose connected to the black solenoid valve on the intake manifold left side. See pic below. Install a 3/16" plastic "T" and 3/16" fuel/vacuum hose.
4. Connect the other end of this new hose to the tan nipple on your factory compressor bypass valve.
(i dont think i did steps 3 and 4)

I didn't put a Block-Off Plate on mine, and it runs perfect! But unfortunately I don't have a picture that I could throw up here of my BOV install, which Negrita_ SS did for me. He is the man! But yes, you do have to "t-split" the hose with those little t's supplied with the kit.
I would take out the Block-Off Plate, and do steps 3 & 4, and you should be ok...

Silly question but you did leave the black rubber piece inside there didn't you? If you did the bov should function fine, whether the ecm likes this is another story.

The ONLY reason you would use Dejon's instructions above would be if you were NOT using the Block Off Plate. If you have the plate then you don't need to T-split your vac lines. It's very simple to install.
1.Take vac line off of BPV.
2.Take off tan BPV cap.
3.Install Hahn block off plate leaving the stock spring and rubber seal in the BPV.
4.Take vac line that was connected to the BPV and hook it up to the BOV nipple.
5.Secure vac line to BOV nipple with ziptie, pressure clamp, etc.
If you have the Hahn block off plate or some other form of this plate then the directions above should work perfectly.

well ok i put everything in w the block off plate. The car sounded like it had hks and then old sound of the dejon spring, after the hks noise. So i took out the spring and same noise hks/kicking a puppy. I threw a CEL (p2261). I put the spring back in, still same noise /same cel (by the way teribble compression surge sounds like a trillion piggons). so i opened the hood and reved it. I could hear the kicking puppy noise coming from the turbo area and the hks from the charge piping. so now the car is at a shop, becuase this is redicolus. I told them to do it the dejon way. If the spring is in there, why do i still have the CEL p2261. I am so confused. Do you guys think it was the weld, because its a shitty weld on the injen cp.
The CEL will come back on just give it time. Same **** happenes to me.

gotta be careful when venting off to atmosphere in a MAF car. It seems fine with the HKS, but with my Synapse Engineering BOV, my car would jerk as the computer was trying to figure out where all the metered air went. My flange is 1.25" vs. 1.00" for HKS (correct me if im wrong). I believe my BOV has a higher discharge flow rate (which i believe is better for performance) and losing more metered air quicker has caused the jerking of the car. A quick fix is to just call up Dejon Powerhouse and request a 1.25" fitting on their intake and than find some 1.25" vinyl hose ( i have some extra for cheap if anyones looking). Connect the outlet of the BOV to the intake and BAM! you're done. It runs exactly like stock but at full boost sounds a lot louder. Nothing like running to atmosphere but its noticable.
