Injen Intercooler?

I'm looking into getting a new intercooler as the one on there I've been told will leak boost. Not wanting to spend too much money, has anyone used Injen intercoolers? I don't want to spend $300 on the ZZP one if I don't have to. This injen one (Here: Injen Forced Induction, Injen Forced Induction Air Intake) will fit the car and has the turbo piping as well. Too good to be true? Has anyone heard good/bad things about this?

Any information is helpful!

Doesnt look like they make an intercooler, just the piping.

Read the listing. It says it includes the intercooler. There's a picture of the intercooler in there with the injen logo in the pipe. Might have to call and ask I guess.

no its just the piping. injen does not make an intercooler for our cars, its a generic listing for injen parts that auto updates per vehicle, put in the cobalt info and look at the instruction set for the listing, its for charge pipes only

Okay. If the intercooler does need replacing i guess I'll find out. ZZP won't ship until mid March so I'll have to run stock for now.

I always tell people treadstone is a nice intercooler but I guess that gets argued on here. My 2 friends also run treadstone intercoolers though and said they've never heard of them being bad intercoolers.

Your really going to complain about how much zzps is. Its cheap. It works and its good for the money. High quality intercoolers are 600+

Not complaining about how much it is. But I don't want to put a brand new $280 intercooler on it if I don't have to. I'm going the 'good enough to run stock' route. Upgrades could come in the future. I don't want to put a $280 intercooler on it then go to the guy who's replacing the rad support and see that new intercooler and charge me more. I don't plan on modifying it for a while.

If you are staying stock and not driving off road then just buy the stock one that's for sale in the thread . For what they are they are good inter coolers, they just get brittle over time and the end tanks crack.

my thought exactly. I don't plan on driving off road. Just using it for what it is. It's a bit low but as long as I don't scrape curbs I should be fine.

Why would someone charge you more to do work because of a new intercooler?

Trying to get him to do the rad support paint and buy a fender hood and have him paint the front clip. Trying to do it "the cheaper way" rather than going to a body shop and paying the 4500. Seeing the new intercooler would be like "if you can get this new you can pay a little more for this stuff too"

I don't think that's how a business works…

It's not necessarily a business persay. It's more a guy who owns a body shop who does projects on the side and this would be an extension of his projects. He does cobalts only. Buys em wrecked, flips em, and sells them. He does cobalts only. He would be doing this as more of an "on the side" project as opposed to a full time project. He has his own projects etc etc. So if he sees a $280 intercooler on there then he might say, why not buy the parts new? as opposed to getting used ones that he has and having him do the work. See what i'm getting at ? might not be clear.

The OEM one is 280 the ZZP one is 330(went up recently). Finding an OEM used one is a lot easier than a used aftermarket one.

I sure hope not. I'm banking on finding a used one if i end up needing one. It's one of those 'i don't know till i try it' things. If you look at my build thread I'm not 100% sure it needs to be replaced. It was just a suggestion. So hoping it doesn't because i can use that $280 to buy an intake because the injen one was hit.
