Learn Down Feature still present w/ GM tune!
So I've been doing some research on this wonderful "Learn down feature and finally came across the best answer to this question of "Will the learn down be gone?" From what I've been reading the learn down feature will not and cannot be removed no matter what due to the way the computer and all the fuel/timing/air/etc. tables are set up. It appears that the "learn-down" feature can just be moved up so to speak. For example with the gm stage kit uping the power to 290hp that willl be the new learn down spot as opposed to the 260hp spot it's currently at. I found this poston another forum straight from the mouth of Vince over at Trifecta. So if you plan on getting the GM Stage kit and bolting on further modifications (ie intake, exhaust, etc..) to get more power...I wouldn't count on it. READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST.

it's being weird for some reason you will have to copy this into your browser address bar and remove the spaces I put in.

all that means is that your **** is going to stay at the hp that they promised you no matter what the conditions are, and still keep your drivetrain warranty which is the main reason people are waiting for it, otherwise they would've jumped on what the tuner shops are putting out, and if you get any other mods done like a intake/exhaust or what ever, it'll still give you performance just not the higher hp, your car will run a bit better from it being able to flow better

I guess ill find out first hand next Saturday when my car hits the dyno. I have the stage kit and mods are in sig. And I will let you guys know. If I show 300 plus it means that the learn down feature if gone. Tom at ced told me that it goes away so I don't know

Okay, you can say what you want, and do all the research, but we will not know FOR SURE, until the kit itself is released. Just my 2cents
How do you have the stage kit that isnt even released yet can I ask?

I am just saying that the learn down feature NEVER goes away...it just moves where it learns down to. I am just showing you all what Vince over at Trifecta (major tuner of these motors) is saying. I'll trust him on the whole learn down thing before a lot of people.

Yeah I totally agree. I have heard great things from him, and I would def. take his opinion over others.
I just want to know how BartSS says he got a GM Stage Kit. I mean the flash isnt out yet so how can he have it installed.

Its all good. Same engine and all and I weigh about 400 pounds more hehe . From what I know and heard the learn down feature is gone with the GM tune a big factor to it is the sensors that get replaced

I am skeptical of that (what Vince says), he would have a vested interest in steering people away from the GM upgrade.
That is hardly conclusive.
BartSS be sure to make a post with your experiences.

I will for sure. They will have a dyno at the meet next weekend and I will have numbers then. And if I pull more than the 290 that the stage kit is rated at then Vince is wrong. I'm not bashing him because he does some sick tunes.
#17
Well do you have a baseline of GM stage 1 vs. GM stage 1 with mods?
#18
i don't but if I pull over 300 then you know its not just the stage kit because we all know that they're underrated not overrated. But we shall see. And if it will dyno around 290 then I will be greatly dissapointed
