ill be doing it soon, so ill need to know too. I know how to get them off the trans, just put a pry bar under the connection and pop it off, then the mounting bracket is like 4 bolts and it comes off trans. ull have to remove ur fuse box I believe to get to em, unless u can from under the car. as for the rest, I have yet to do it.

I have changed them twice on my lnf. Due to them frezzing up solid in the winter time. I am very capable at working on cars. I have small hands as well. And. All i can say is have fun. Lol.. Its not a hard job. Its just they get caught up on EVERYTHING on both the way out and back in. Its a pain in the ass. You really dont need to take out the fuse box. Or any amount of bolts. There is one nut on a stud holding the linkage away from the down pipe. Thats it. You can use your hands to remove the linkage off the tranny from both inside and outside. Its a lot easier when you have two people.

I have my tranny out so mine should be easy. nothing much to get in the way since cradle, downpipe and bunch of other stuff is not on the car. do u have to push them threw firewall and connect them to shifter or how does that work?

I'm having mine replaced this week at a shop as part of a much bigger job (fueling, cams, head etc).
My problem was hard shifting under high rpms (road track).
Powell advised me that the cables probably overheated and need replacing.

it was literally a 2 hour job for me. first realized visions put all my command start modules right above the shifter cable so I had to remove all that crap first. then dropping tools in by the shifter all the time, have to just allen wrench to do my gear cable cause of the stainless clamp. then under the car the bolt that holds heat shield above downpipe broke so I had to weld that back on. and so forth lol. oh and finding tools I misplaced took up some time to

Hahaha, the story of my life when it comes to "simple" or "easy" jobs. Stupid stuff always seems to happen and interfere.
I feel your pain Tom
