I did notice in 3rd it seems to have a soft spot, very slight around 4k and then goes away. Worried that it could be clutch slipping but dont smell burnt clutch. Could be tires spin too I guess but does not seem like the tire spin. I would think that the clutch would be more likely to slip in 3rd too. second pulls super hard even with tires spinning a little.

Running BFG DR so after second gets em hot I would not think its slight tire spin but could be.

Thoughts... I know its hard to say without being there so its more of a crystal ball question...lol
When you are at peak torque, you are using the most fuel per engine cycle. The mechanical fuel pump which operates relative to engine speed falls behind until the cylinder air mass decreases enough for the pump to keep up again.

Well I am glad I am not the only noticing something going on in third gear . Seems to lag or stumble when you get on it, then will come on really strong. Not that I am complaining as the shear torque is amazing.

I will be doing the dd thing but my nearest e85 station is 30 miles from house, luckily it is right next to my work. I will be getting two new 5 gallon gas cans just in case i do lots of driving over weekends.

I got 27.3 MPG Hwy on my way to phoenix at mostly 75-80 MPH. And I ran consistant 111+ MPH traps. (111.94 was my best with a 13.0 ET) Only mod is tune and AB mod

I'm one of those people in a DD full E85 SS. 300+ miles in and not one problem!! I've also noticed that my mpg have stayed the same, I think it might be a bit better... Well that's if I can keep my foot off the gas!!!

The displayed MPG on the DIC stays the same, calculate it and you will probably find it different. I think it is due to the fuel mass change in the tune. DIC read ~30% higher than actual on mine anyway.

thx for the feed back xcross - does your boost spike higher now?

Yea, I have not been hard into 4th but 3rd it does it at little. Yesterday afternoon when it was hot it was hard to notice. Last night I was going to hit the track but chickened out. With the cold dense air it was very noticeable. I forgot my cable so could not log. Its still cold this am so will go log a run.

Vince said looked like a little IDC and a little clutch slip. Gonna see what we can do to get rid of it. My boost was pretty high to, spiking to 25 at least. Just keeping the boost at 22 may resolve it.

I saw earlier in this thread a link to some data logging software that works with the tactrix cable. Will try that too so I can see the logs.

I think Vince sell's the software and I am going to get it also. So hard to describe what it is that i am noticing, could be clutch, Vince has reviewed the logs and said the car is running really good and it is.

I have not been paying attention as to what my boost has been doing."holding on for dear life" at WOT. Will take a look later on today.

I agree with the previous post that the dic is not calculating mpg correctly as i can assure you my mpg has dropped 30%.

Depends on what he means yes it still has a stock boost level with selectable tune switch to the higher boost tune. If he is working off of you're original gas tune and you have selcta tune before you have it now my car does. But no it does not have a gas to e85 switch not yet anyway

I have the gmstage1 based tune on my gas tune also as the tune off mode. I drove 30 miles on the lower gmstage1 stock tune and the car ran fine really smooth. I asked Drewbrew about it before because I wasn't sure about that also if it mattered which mode it was in. I like to do my daily drive to work in bumper to bumper traffic in the stock mode and save the higher level tune for when I need it thinking maybe it is easier on the car. Maybe Vince will jump in on this pretty sure it works just fine on the lower boost stock setting also?
