The DIC for whatever reason *never* reads correctly with the E85 tweak. If you do the mileage calculation manually you'll see it's about 15-20% off of the economy with gasoline.

Still, the price of E85 seems to be staying stable while gasoline goes up.

I paid 3.49/gal for E85 here, and premium is $4.15/gal !

Where did you get E85 near us, Vince? Too lazy to go looking, lol.

I'm debating whether to go this route or not. I'm trying to decide if the savings will pay back the tune, and how long that will take given the fuel mileage difference.

I'm not even concerned so much with the performance difference. The car does all I want it to do now and any added performance is a terrific bonus. $3.49 as opposed to $4.15 and climbing is what is making me consider it.

Another possibility that was brought up earlier and then Vince brought up with me today is the possiblity of going a bit leaner. It may have the benefit of more power while also letting the HPFP keep up. We'll have to dyno to find out if there's any more power still on the table though.

Im on corn now! so far so good but i havent done any intense pulls yet. When i get on it in first and let off it seems like it takes a while for my RPM's to fall back down... normal??

It might be the placebo effect of you expecting something different to happen with the fuel change. Same thing happened to me when I swapped motors in my coupe. I was paranoid that it was running too hot. Then I realized that is normal temps, I was just staring at the guage all the time.

If you are towards the south end, I found a place online in Fife, which happens to be 3 miles from me. I filled up with Premium at Chevron today and it's still $3.99 here. So being $4.15 you must be closer to the city.

Yeah, I buy my E85 in what I believe to be the only E85 station in King County - at Snoqualmie
