5280 Cobalts Modified HPFP is being tested and developed right now. Even on the K04 this E85 just doesn't flow enough in the lower RPM's causing weird throttle sensitivity and other things. It's great at 24 lbs and WOT but this mod should allow for much more throttle play, sensitivity, and possibly smoother starts.

I know this can be adjusted by tuning and mixes and blends but this will fix the issue for those of us that want it and it might even help with a turbo swap etc..

Provided the stock rails are pressure tested with many variables in the lab before release 5280 Cobalts Re-enforced rails will be used out of a thicker gauge material and that might be necessary to make it safe for every day applications which will take even longer unfortunately.

5280 Cobalts is using one of the finest machine shops in North America to achieve this goal and will be tested in more than one LNF before its final debut.

I can't believe you guys are complaining about cold start ups. I live in Canada and I have had no issues with 50% e85/50% e10 94. I have been driving the car around when it's been close to 3 C. One time it didn't like starting, but I primed it twice and there was no problem.

I think everyone's HPFP must be run different from one to another. I have had no issues with fuel, a cel, or anything of that nature. My tuner did a good job dialing in the boost slower, 22psi when the HPFP starts going, then goes to 24 and goes back down to 23 across the board.

I don't actually drive the car much. Anyone know how much shelf life I have on this ethanol?

I think I have used 20 Gallons of the stuff so far, just on visual.

It is a great train to be on. My buddy with the c63 amg rode in my car, he was shocked how much the little car moved out.

The fuel mixing is a pain, but if it's not your daily, it's quite easy to settle for e47.

As for fuel economy, when not in boost the car is actually quite fuel efficient. Unfortunately, once in boost is drinks!

i just read all 44 pages of this. However, I do not think any blend will supply enough fuel for a S20G. Currently waiting on a call from vince to discuss the options.

I was wondering if anyone had tried injecting E85 using a Meth setup like the devils own using a bigger nozzle to supply extra fuel with a progressive controller

I'd be careful injecting anything flammable into the cp. I could see an engine fire pretty easily with one backfire. <50% meth is non flammable.

Opinions?

I was thinking the same thing. Why not just run E47 and meth injection

Here's my plan. If 93 can reach 425whp with some injector winow left over, ill try e47, howevr I think I might have to stick with 93 to reach my power goals.

In december I made 415whp on 93 with 2 meth nozzels injectin 100% meth. This was before all this injection window widening talk started. Hopefully, now, it has opened up enough for me to have some flexability in fuel.

love my tune, havent had any problems starting it either, it sat for like 14 hours in 60 degrees and started right up on the first crank. I guess im just lucky i dont live anywhere real cold lol.

Why is that? My car starts when it was 20-30 deg at the touch of a key just like on gas. Just hit or miss on some cars same if they get enough fuel on E or not.

hey guys
so far my only issue with the E85 tune is that it breaks up in 4th and loses power and that goes for all of 5th as well, and when it does this it will put engine reduced power across the dash, but i still have full engine power output, and can clear the message or reduced power with my steering wheels control...
vince reviewed my log and says i ran out of fuel pump lol
so im working on this issue right now...

I think i just replied to you on another thread lol. Try the Walbro 255 then! Id like to see this on a car and a log via Hptuners to see the FP and IDC differences.

A Walbro 255 won't fix it. The bottleneck is at the HPFP.

^^^ This. Its been said over and over. At the higher power levels the HPFP cant keep up with the increased demand full E puts on it.

Option, 91 or 93 Octane plus Alcohol injection, thats about the best option your going to get on a bigger turbo currently until a HPFP is available.

Or get ahold of ZZP and get there whole fuel rail pump set up they use.

Hes talking about the mechanical HPFP on the intake, not the in tank pump

i know its the hpfp but i wanted to have both on the car when the time came...

and i cant send an hp tuners log file cause im on a trifecta tune and dont have access to the hp software

I was looking at a pic of a crate engine LHU and there seems to be something that looks like it may be a secondary HPFP on the exhaust cam...anyone think maybe we might be able to do an LHU head/LNF botom end hybrid? lol May solve our full E prob and feed a large turbo too. Just an idea...

I've been running our revised fuel pump lobe cam for a while now. I picked up ~20% fuel flow through the midrange. With injection timing adjustments, we've dyno'd >460 ft lbs on E85 with the DI rail only. WHP numbers were well over 500, but the in-tank pump comes up short at this power level on E85. With an in-tank pump swap, we have seen 540whp with DI only on E85. With our additional injector and controller, 612whp. We are installing these parts on a customer car today.
