MPx Oil Catch Can
#27
welp guys, i was running my ctach can with the lil paper filter it came with, and there was a lil build up inside the catch can, just decided to remover the filter 3 days ago and then pop the hood today and this>. i seen in another catch the liquide was white/milky colour and dont you think this is alot for a few days

So is the catch can is positioned (so to speak) into where was this line (now removed) so that one hose feeds into the can from the valve cover and the other hose goes from the can to the turbo side? SEE BELOW
Somone else has another route shown here:
...anyone care to clarify?

Found this explanation:
When I swapped to the Hahn intake I noticed a fair amount of oil in the stock accordian intake elbow and residue in the charge pipes. After closer inspection I realized the oil was coming from the breather which goes from the passenger rear of the valve cover to the inlet of the compressor housing.
For those who don't know, the other breather which comes off the middle rear of the valve cover to the intake is the fresh air intake ONLY. That black dingus you snap onto your intake is the PCV valve. Its a one way check valve flowing towards the valve cover, and it appears to be a pretty good valve. I hit it with 5-10psi of shop air and it held. So no reason to futz around with it unless you want two catch can draws, which on a higher boost/hp car isn't a horrible idea.

So I figured out an easy way to get the hose off! Plastic/Nylon Zip Tie Wraps or whatever you call them! Get some that are medium sized, a few mm thick, cut four, two inch long pieces (do not use the thin tapered starter section of the tie wrap), insert one piece at each locking tab to disengage it, then pull off the connector (a firm tug was required still).
The tie wrap pieces are great because they are very flexible and easy to get into the connector. Just use tie wraps that are thick enough to fully disengage the locking tabs (but not too thick that it jams trying to be inserted) and you are good to go! The hard part was finding where the locking tabs were but I guess you could cut more pieces and jam the connector full if you wanted to make sure you got them.
Here is a picture of how I got the hose off the turbo side just to demonstrate how this works great to get into tight spaces. On the turbo side the fitting completely blocks about a quarter of the connector but I was still able to fit the piece of tie wrap in to disengage the locking tab (The picture only shows one piece of plastic tie but I used four total).
I'm so happy I have my catch can in finally!

That might work but you can only disengage one of the four locking tabs at a time with that. And getting at all the tabs with the valve cover on will be almost impossible, maybe rotating the hose will help. I tried disengaging the tabs one at a time the first time (before I figured out the plastic tie trick) but only got one or two off. You'll have to pull on the hose the whole time so that the undone tabs don't re-engage while you are undoing the next one. Should work okay on the turbo side of the hose once you have that "plug" off and can work on the connector out in the open.

The wraps easily release the tabs inside. I'm gonna stick around 6 in there. Heads up on the bolt that holds the line on the turbo...you'll need a swivell to get in there...10mm. I got it loose in testing. I hope it pulls out easily...I know there's a seal in there so i'll prolly need to pull hard on it to get it out. Wish me luck!

Yeah, you have to wiggle it a lot to get the turbo plug out. It was surprisingly a big plug with an o-ring seal you can see in my pic.
