Need help with cel! P2261-bpv

So my 09 cobalt ss has a cel p2261 bpv mechanical. I already replaced the stock bpv with a forge bpv and no change. Whenever it goes into boost i can also hear a flutter and i already did the bypass mod. Running out of ideas. Any input will be great. Thanks

Maybe your solenoid is bad or the the forge isn't properly lubed

One thing people keep saying is the forge has to be aimed down, I don't know if this will solve your issue but if it is the valve than maybe its worth a shot over something simple.

Also from what I understand it isn't the vacuum port, Apparently there is a port on the back side of it where the piston is.

I do have a forge one installed and I do know you can aim the vacuum port in any direction, But I can't figure out what has to be aimed down since there is only a hole in the bottom of the valve and not the side, So maybe someone else could help you further.

I bought the bpv brand new and it's lubed. Maybe the solenoid is trash. Everytime the car builds boost it flutters. I'll replace that and see if it works

The opening in the forge bpv has to point towards the floor if I remember correctly

If ur bpv isn't opening then u have it in wrong, the opening on the bpv has to line up with the opening in the turbo. Stick ur finger in the turbo intake just before the turbine wheel and feel around the circumstance , ull feel the hole, that's where the opening of the bpv has to point to. If ur fluttering while boosting, ur vac tank is blown, bypass it

I already bypassed the vacuum. I'll reinstall the forge bpv tommorow. Didn't know the hole has to line up with the inside hole.

Well i figured out my problem today lol

I must have had a dumb moment or wasn't paying attention when ordering, I ordered a direct fit blow off valve not a by pass valve..

Looks the exact same just doesn't have a slot.. Wow I am disappointed in myself

Well I doubt this is your problem lol, But i wanted to post for anyone else.

P2261 is normal if converted to BOV will have to do a few things to make it run properly if you want to keep that though.

I have run mine for a while with the maf in the intake and it spikes rich, probably way is to get a ZZP lower charge pipe with a maf relocate tube, move the maf there then retune.

Lot of work if you don't have the charge pipe.
