o2 sensor.

Well my o2 sensor is shot. keep getting o2 sensor stuck lean code. so i ordered a new one.

I was standing in the plumbing section of a hardware store the other day and was thinking, why not take some cast plumbing tubing and such and screw em into the o2 sensor port and more the sensor possition up to the top of the engine where it can be easily reached and where it is out of the direct heat of the exhaust. it wouldnt take much to do. what do u guys think? would it work? i think im gonna try it see what happens.

If this is the primary O2 sensor, a huge NO. It needs heat to properly work and for accurate readings, it needs to be in the stream.

If this is the secondary O2 sensor, which has nothing to do with a lean code, then use a spark plug antifouler.

Lean code could be just a bad sensor, or a vacuum leak.

im sure its the sensor, cause i get random misfire at startup sometimes to. it says 02 sensor (bias) stuck lean. and its slowly getting worse with the code, its only at startup, when driving it doesnt seem to throw it.

Back 02: 12616506 $35.99

Both are on GMPartsDirect... gotta look under the electrical section though.
