Psykotuned LNF

yeah man seriously if you update it please let us know, i put it on the hhr and my wife noticed a significant difference. TY once again why didn't gm do this first (use the LNF)

This is so funny! The damn turbo is practically maxed out. 24 psi and then settles to 22 psi. That means the turbo is starting to run out of breath. So add in, intake, exhaust (catless downpipe, 3" exhaust), intercooler/piping, you might get an extra 50-60 maybe 70 hp from that. So you sittin at 300-310 CRANK hp. Add (go on the high side) 70 hp from all that stuff, you have 380 crank hp, thats 315 whp. Only a few more hp than a maxed out bolt on LSJ. Big woop

Did YOU notice a huge difference too, or just your wife?

It spiked and settled stock as well. 18 down to 15-16 for me. Right now it holds 22 and drops to about 18 by redline. In the end, it may not make much more max power on stock turbo than the LSJ did on stock blower, but it'll be a lot safer. Did you catch the part where at 22 pounds my IAT peaked at only 135 in 105 degree weather?

The stock wastegate spring can only handle the 22.5psi silly, that's why it levels at 22.5 psi. But even if you change the wastegate spring the airflow meter can only read 22.5 psi. So maxed out......ha! I doubt this turbo maxes out at 3,000rpms. Go back to fixing your car.

LSJ was a short term solution to the sport compact problem.
GM always comes late to the party, but when they do they dominate the whole scene.
I've been saying for 6 months this engine was going to be amazing and everyone hated on it.
This engine is gold, until the LNY comes out...

The LNF stock turbo is roughly the same size as the SRT-4 stock turbo. SRT-4 when their turbo is turned up all the way, they peak at 22-24 psi, then fall to 15-16 psi. Now the SRT is a 2.4L I can see less boost fall off, but still, its doomed to be like a stock turbo srt-4. 8,000 ft-lbs of torque and 300 whp

Something the LSJ can't touch.
I love my LSJ and how unique it is but sitting here and saying the LSJ is better, or even CLOSE, to an LNF is like saying a Lotus weighs more than a Hummer.

When it's fully unlocked and people do bolt ons the LNF will make 330whp and 425lb/ft.
Something the LSJ can't touch.

I just got done tuning 2 SS/TC Cobalts today. It was fun, and super easy.
As soon as you hit the gas the boost jumps to 24psi, and then settles down to 22psi and holds all the way to redline. This is ridiculous! The dyno was closed today, but I am taking a Saturn Sky Redline to the dyno on Saturday for some before and after results.
Expected power levels are 310hp at the crank and around 340tq. It's unbelievable how smooth the powerband is, and the speed is incredible. I don't think the LSJ stands a chance.
IAT2 temps were max of 135* at top of third gear and that's from a dead start. Ambient temps were 115*. That let's you know this intercooler is seriously capable.
Injector duty cycle maxed at 35% thanks to the efficiency of direct injection. And this car is ready for more power. I don't see the charge piping being an issue as long as all the hoses stay connected.
Car sounds stock, and remains quiet. Only the driver and the guy who you are beating will know it's fast as hell.

LNF = $250 to make 330 & 425
LSJ = A few grand to make 330 & and maybe 320
Dude, honestly, I know we've had our differences in the past but you're just being ignorant here.

I beat a 298 whp SRT-4. He had 298 whp, and 370 ft-lbs of torque. That didn't help him at all, on the highway, your way higher in the power band that peak torque, thus it does you no good, unless your starting at 2500 rpm.
I literally LOL'd at that

I wasn't quick to dismiss it, I've been long awaiting it. And if you have to build the hell out of an LSJ just to beat a baby LNF what are you proving?
Sadly, no matter how cool these cars are, they are still going to depreciate in value quicker than the Reichsmark.
#145
Yes i noticed a huge difference, it felt like a different car. a simple turbo swap will fix the stock turbo being maxed.
#146
I'm pretty sure nobody with a stock tuned LNF with exhaust will have ANY problem loosing to a LSJ with a fully built motor and a $2200 blower under the hood.
The LNF kills the LSJ in the same way that the LNY will kill the LNF.

Yeah, I laughed the first time I found out too.
$100 for the tune - if you know how to tune.
$150 to PAY someone to cut your cat out and put in 3" piping
$250 = 330hp/425lb/ft

Ford's Ecoboost will dominate these ECOtecs, but displacement wins there.
#150
Whoever you are, you probably don't know all that much. I've worked on full built LSJs, turbo swaps, spray, you name it.

I like what youre doing for the Lnf guys, it just seemed like you were flaming on the lsj's, and i didnt like it. If you didnt mean it like that then all is well, but i do know my stuff.
