Selectable tune: Cruise control or Traction control

As some of you know we're getting ready to release a new tune for the LNF that allows the driver to select between two different programmed tunes on the fly.

Currently I have this working so an alternate tune is used when COMPETITION MODE is selected with the traction control button. But another way to do it would be to use the cruise control switch - if cruise control is off one tune (our aggressive tune) is selected, and if it is on, another tune (GM stage tune or stock tune) is selected.

What do you think would be more useful? Tying this to the competition mode or traction control mode?

Cruise control sounds more useful to me. But I don't have an LNF.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing this morning - people might want to modify their traction control settings irregardless of which tune is selected.

I like the idea of a more agressive tune being enabled in competition mode. That way the less agressive tune will help MPG if you're just cruising around town and acceleration on to the highway.

I am thinking cruise control.... After all, the cruise control on my car automatically comes on when I start my car... I have to purposefully turn it off - something that would be desired when switching to the aggressive tune......

On my car the cruise control is a toggle switch - I was thinking cruise control on = less aggressive tune, cruise control off = more aggressive tune

So you turn Cruise Control on, but then what happens when you don't turn on Competitive mode? Will you have traction control enabled on an aggressive tune?

Did that make sense?

I think competitive mode button is the logical answer. That way TC is turned off and the aggressive tune is enabled at the same time.

I use that button all the time for muting and calling people. Plus that button is most likely tied to the radio instead of the ECU

I like this

If I were to buy your tune and have ridiculous, not so good for the track(not the strip) power band in my great for the track(again not the strip ) traction/esc settings...that would be some suck

I vote the traction control...

Cruise is to risky for me. I press it on accident some times.

you know what it would be nice as hell.... a little out of topi; you know that button that you move left-right and right-left to put the lights of the dash higher or lower.... that would be a good boost controller... very handy and at the same time very unotisable... IMHO

true... the cruise button can be pressed accidently where as the tracktion control is harder to press it accidently...

Man I use my cruise control all the time, I'd much rather the button used for performance oriented driving from the factory serve a similar purpose- Competition button for me.

crooze control...because i hold the traction button down and turn everything off when im racing, so comp mode wouldnt do **** for me lol

unless vince has a way to link the toon so when we hold the T/C button down for 3 seconds and turn everything off that would unleash the fury of the insanity toon lol

Would the econo-tune activate by pressing cruise control anytime (even if cruise is disabled), so you could use it around town too? Only being able to take advantage of it for short spurts on the highway around here would kinda stink. How would you separate the tune from the actual cruise control feature in how you activate it?

I think I like the competitive mode button idea overall. The theme/idea kinda ties in anyway that way. Would you still be on a "standard" tune if you just go to traction off/esc off? It'd be nice in my mind to have it available in actual competitive mode especially and maybe esc off mode.

Yea I'd rather have the Competitive Mode button turn the aggressive tune ON, it would kind of be like the power button in the Bimmers, actually increases power fairly dramatically as opposed to just altering traction control (which it also does).

I will update my tune in 2 seconds flat when this becomes available, I'll even be a guinea pig if you need one! I'd love to have 100% STOCK power when in normal mode and my current more aggressive tune when in Competitive Mode.

But if it's so easy to do both, why not just let the customer pick which button they want to use when they order?
