unless vince has a way to link the toon so when we hold the T/C button down for 3 seconds and turn everything off that would unleash the fury of the insanity toon lol
This could be done, too - there's a flag for the ESC enabled/disable which I could trigger off of

I will update my tune in 2 seconds flat when this becomes available, I'll even be a guinea pig if you need one! I'd love to have 100% STOCK power when in normal mode and my current more aggressive tune when in Competitive Mode.

But if it's so easy to do both, why not just let the customer pick which button they want to use when they order?
Good idea - we could modify the ordering page to allow customers to choose which button chooses what tune. Great idea

My unofficial vote:

Make it that illusive "turbo button" in the little hidden storage bin to the left.

People that pushed it always seem to go faster after that unusual "thump" sound.

So let me get this straight, you are going to be putting 3 tunes on one pcm and each button/mode triggers a different tune? If so that is bad azzzz!

Depends on how busy I am over the next few weeks. I need to make this work on 09 cars also (different OS, different code) before I can make it generally available. My gut says 1-2 weeks but with software estimates you always multiply by 3. So between 3 and 6 weeks and hopefully it will only be 1-2 weeks. LOL

Vince, what about those of us that may be interested in the "beast mode" not being quite 30psi (for the sake of the turbo)?

Yup. And you can switch them while driving. I tried this yesterday on my car - I had it floored in "normal" mode and it boosted to 15psi. I hit competition mode, with my foot to the floor still and all of the sudden it went up to 30psi. LOL

"beast mode" is still under test. We can probably find some settings to go less than all-out if people want a little more boost without going full beast.

Nice will the other tunes be traceable by gm for warranty purposes when its on the stock mode?

I have a tweak for that too - no more spare ECMs will be needed. Regardless of what's in the ECM it will always report itself as an authentic GM flash.

To be honest, most of the time the dealer won't even scan for a tune. I've had several warranty repairs done with my current Trifecta tune and they never said a word. I took the shop FOREMAN for a TEST DRIVE boosting 22PSI the whole time to point out a noise...never a word about a tune and all the work was warrantied.

It won't be the same at every dealer but I've had zero issues.

I've read the dealer's bulletin on checking for aftermarket tunes - basically they are only really instructed to do that if there's a "suspicious warranty claim" - like a piston hanging out the side of the block.

In that case they are instructed to obtain photographic evidence of an aftermarket tune (if there is one) using the tech2.

That's what I figured but those are hopefully going to be fairly rare occurrences even if you're tuned so it's something most people shouldn't have to worry about...hopefully, lol.

Yeah - the "grey" area is where there's a engine component failure (let's say, a valvespring) that *might* be attributed to an aftermarket tune. The manufacturer will come up with any excuse not to honor a warranty claim if they can

No, this is a feature that will come out in the new tune - but current tune customers can get the upgrade at a discount. We haven't figured out the pricing yet.

I have been told that the ECM can store one tune only not two or more.

There is enough free EEPROM space to add multiple desired torque, commanded AFR and timing tables (and the code to switch between them).
