i said this before though, the car cant be dynoed while in comp mode. it bogs at 4000 RPMs.
well my car did. so i had to cut the car off, and turn it back on and just turn it to off... then it worked.
unless theres a way to fix that.

This is the reason I've waited so long for a tune... Can't wait. I'd say make it the trac. Control button. Any idea on pricing vince?

Wow. I was very nearly sold on trifecta tune before I read this thread. Now I am completely sold!

My preference:
TC on = Stock tune or Econo tune
Comp Mode = Trifecta Performance Tune
TC off and ESC off = Beast Mode

Change DIC to say "Take Flight Mode" when Beast tune is activated.

Vince, you are making many people very very happy!

Well, it sounds like we're limited to only two tunes at this time. I'm with you though, I think three would be ideal:

1) Normal DD
2) Econo for trips
3) Performance for competition or when you need even more passing power, or w/e...

I think the ideal situation with the tune selectability for me would be the following....

- On normal startup (traction on) the car is on a stock or similar tune.
- In comp mode, the car is on the 21.5 psi tune (the current one you provide)
- Holding down the TC button for 5 seconds to turn off the ESC activates the "Crazy" tune.

I think this setup would have the performance options that most would be seeking. Also, having to hold down the TC button for 5 seconds in order to turn the ESC off and activate the "Crazy" tune would give a little bit of stealth, secrecy and security from anybody else who may drive the car to accidentally (or intentionally) activate it.

Lastly, any idea when this tune will become available? I can't wait!
I like this idea the best!!

Ya but I would hate to run the "beast tune" all weekend on a track day with ESC off. But then for time attack you would.

Vince, how many tunes can fit on the computer? I know I definitely want a mpg tune were the car runs lower boost and is leaner but safe.

Is there a way to do this:

cruse light on:
T/C on=MPG tune
T/C off=same as comp but of course no traction for dyno purposes.
Comp mode= strong tune but lower launch control to 3k(when available) and lower boost in 1st and have this more of a street tire comp mode.

Cruse light off:
T/C on= bone stock tune or mild
T/C off= same as comp but of course no traction for dyno purposes.
Comp mode= I guess more of a beast tune for dr's or slicks with full boost in 1st and higher launch control if there is a way to keep it from bogging.

I Don't know if this is feasible but I figured I would throw the idea out there. I also PM'd you with some other questions.

E. ESC off
F. All the friggin time (LOL)
is it possible to have the competitive tune on when ESC is off as well as when Comp. mode is engaged? I would generally want it for both of those modes, but not on during "normal" mode.

Also, is it possible to shorten the time it takes to disable the ESC? It would be nice to only have to hold the button for 2 seconds or so.

An option in your tunes for custom text would be an option I would be willing to pay extra for!

Dealer tested!!!

Vince will most likely not be able to post replies for a while. We got slammed with orders and he is working on them so he can start sending them out.

Great news:

Vince just let me know the tune has been verified to be completely un-detectable. A custom he was working with installed the tune then went to a dealership and had them scan with the Tech 2. He asked the tech if there was an after market tune installed and the GM tech told him "no, it's the stock tune". So there you have it. For all those who doubted the tune could be hidden, it is.

Thats awesome! Very cool feature that will definitely help sell the tune. The tune can also be custom done at a dyno shop?

Just fill out the GT Tuner order form, from my home page, and indicate you want the cable in the notes. Sale ends tonight so get your order in by Midnight, pacific Standard time.

We will call you Monday to finalize the order.

Yes, absolutely can be custom done at a dyno shop. You would need to schedule the time in advance with Vince. He would basically tune your car from here. No one else has the same ability.

Thanks everyone.

OK, I'm out of here, going drinking with the wife and some friends tonight. i mean eating, nah, I mean drinking!

If by "canned" you mean you tell him everything you have done, and he gets the tune close because he has so many data logs (not like there's a plethora of parts for our cars...) then runs data logs on your car since we have wideband O2 sensors, and perfects your tune, then yes it is a "canned" tune There's no better dyno then the real world IMHO.

Currently I have this working so an alternate tune is used when COMPETITION MODE is selected with the traction control button. But another way to do it would be to use the cruise control switch - if cruise control is off one tune (our aggressive tune) is selected, and if it is on, another tune (GM stage tune or stock tune) is selected.

What do you think would be more useful? Tying this to the competition mode or traction control mode?
Dude this is such a bad ass idea
