Slipping 3rd-5Th gears southbend clutch
Just today I noticed that my car began to slipped from 3rd to 5Th gears,
I am wondering what I should do? ive had the clutch for about 1yr and 3 months at about 13k miles
At clutch replacement I replaced it with southbend stage4+ replaced flywheel, flywheel bolts, tob, clutch line
My car has just been tuned e47 on stock ko4 turbo basic bolt ons nothing to crazy I presummed for a clutch that should be able to handle it any one have had similar problems? i should just go back to a stock clutch cant afford another southbend car is daily driven about 50% stop and go and 50% hwy

Love how u guys just judge he guys driving when u have no clue, if ud at least word it in a way like, how is ur driving, maybe ur riding the clutch and so forth. Don't have to be mean
To him. So knock it off and try giving pleasant advice instead of making people not want to come back

Want it to stop slipping, go stock and I mean completely stock. Next piece of advise (again I'll be the dick) if you can afford to fix it don't mod it.

For one, he is my friend, second, u don't have to be a dick to people u don't know from a hole in the ground to go accusing them of anything. Just give some decent advice or don't talk. He is hear for help not for ur lip. I don't wanna lock a thread that's here for help because of bs like this. Even if it would be his driving, how about u try suggesting that in a way that makes people want to come back for advice in the future.

Calling a spade a spade, it's kinda like a po101, most likely it's going to be a boost leak not a bad maf. If the clutch only lasts 13k, it's most likely due to driver error, now that could be general inability or going WOT in 5th or below 3500rpms. Every once in while it's going to be the clutch had a manufacturing issue, but 9.9 times outta 10 it's the driver.

My Stg4 lasted 2 years, totally worn out the disc was gone. I drove for a year in stop and go bad traffic. Are we still talking about driving?? The Stg clutch is not meant for high traffic DDing that's why I'm buying a another car to kill that POS instead of my baby with my nice clutch

or possibly driving in heavy traffic day after day stop and go, guess that didn't cross ur mind though. and from what he told me that could be one of the reasons. How about we ask a few questions about driving habits and conditions before we accuse people of not knowing how to drive. I know I have some bad clutching habits and my same clutch as his with a ton more power has lasted longer. But I also don't have much stop and go traffic. I know others who have burned out a clutch in 2 years or so from driving conditions.

Exactly, I drive in some of the worst traffic (LA has me beat, but Denver is not far behind) and my clutch is still holding great even on e47 with a spike to 26 and I'm at 40k and 3years.

Wow, maybe ecaulk was a little blunt but tom you also took this way to personal. I agree that it's strange that a clutch doesn't last 2 years and it appears the extra torque from the e47 tune did it in. I pulled my stock clutch at 39,000 to change to a different trans and it still had some life left in it. I'm tuned by 2009cobaltss1 and ran it on e47 last year on the k04+.
Op since you drive a lot of city in wondering do you downshift at lights, and do it quickly? Do you ever go wot below 3,000?
