Is the lnf starter the same as the ones on other cobalt models?

Yes and no. It will physically fit, but the lnf's use a small clip on connector for the start wire, while lsj's (and I think any ecotec prior to 08) use a "standard" 8mm (5/16") stud/nut.

I looked at the one off a 2.2 ecotec I have here and the lnf one off my car, they are identical. both have a stud nut.
