Convinced on the tranny swap prior to a turbo swap. Just need to save up some cash. I'd rather do it right the first time so. Clutch & tranny swap, stock cams with upgraded fuel lobes, titanium valve springs, and a s256et kit. Shame I already have the down pipe and cold air intake tho :/ I'd just rather not push the zfr to its limits to make 450whp.

FMSR is really the only ones doing much with the 5-speed right now. ZZP used to, but they don't offer the 4.45 5-speeds anymore. Powell will do it if you can source some 4.45 gears, but he is out right now and it doesn't look like there is much supply left. You can run an LSJ trans with slightly shorter 4.05 gears. It will help, but won't hold a whole lot more than the LNF 3.82 gearing.

Zzp still sells the 4.45 trans but is there anything better priced wise? And Powell makes the 4.45s?

ZZP sells the F40 6-speed. I talked to Tim last week and he said they no longer offer the 4.45 5-speed services. Powell can do it if you have gears, but all his current 4.45 gears are spoken for. FMSR has some 4.45's left. Trans work isn't cheap.

Raver i heard this as well, i know john has my gears waiting for spring time. Better to change out know before i do break 3rd and cost me a 1k i didnt need to spend. Being retroactive is 1 of the most important things when upgrading performance items in your car imo.

Go read some of zzp's threads on it and the discussion in some of the recent FMSR threads on it. ZZP has track tested it and written reviews on here. Hate to be the guy that says "search", but there is some really good info in those threads!

I'm not worried about hearing and all that fancy jazz I just wanted to know if it can handle the power because it's actually the cheapest swap available. Mainly because it comes with everything. I looked it up and it'll work on my build.

The F40 is more expensive than the 4.45 F35's typically, but yes it does come with everything you need for about $3,700 shipped. That is the route I am looking at taking. They say they seem to be good to 700whp or more, as I don't believe they have broken one yet.

The main reason I want the 6 speed is because I can daily drive it swap the tranny and keep driving. I don't have to worry about sending out my old tranny. Plus I can sell my old tranny clutch flywheel and short throw shifter and make at least 1,000$ back.
