Theft/clutch relearn used pcm

I did multiple searches on this and came up with nothing. I had purchased a used GMS1 flashed PCM a while back when my plans were different. I wanted to use it to drive my car temporarily while I schedule my hp tune. I did install the 3 bar map sensors so this was a good option for a temp. I installed it and did the theft relean and after the 3rd attempt the lock/security light went out but the car does not start. My RPD reads no data also. Is there anything else that has to be done with a used pcm? Do I need to have the dealer flash my vin into it? Maybe a clutch relearn? Any info will help thanks

I think vin needs to be flashed. I could be wrong but that is usually the case with ecus

I'm not entirely sure if the 30 minute relearn also learns the security key or not. Wish I knew for sure.

Me too. I had to order a ZZP PCM cause I couldn't get this one to work. Its been pissing me off. I bought it when I first got the car, then found BYT was 30 min from me. Im like 400 in the hole with PCM's not including the $250 for the BYT tune on my Original. I just need to get the car back to him so he can update it. Going to have to have an electronics sale when this is over

Update with how the new ZZP part goes. I'm pretty certain the VIN must be programmed in a PCM before it'll take the 30 min key thing OR the PCM must be new / reset to new.

Hmm I highly doubt it. I have a spare pcm I put in my car has a stock file on it I did the relearn and everything worked fine I drove with that pcm for a week without any problems. I removed it because I was trouble shooting my tune so I went back to my tune pcm

Installed the ZZP PCM today. Did the relearn and it started right up. I guess the vin does need to be programmed in. Havent had much of a chance to drive it other than around the block. I am heading to FT Dix NJ tomorrow its like a 2hr ride. Ill get some time then and see how it is. Thanks to all for the help.

I dont know then. I am at a loss of explanation. For some reason my car just doesn't recognize the other one. im going to bring that one with me when I get my tune corrected and see if we can get it to work. The curiosity is getting to me.
