Thoughts on this 09 SS sedan

Hey guys. Haven't been on here in awhile but im going to take a look at this today and was trying to get an idea of what you all think. It's from a small dealer, 74k miles for $7500. Seems very low to me. Clean title. By the pictures definitely has an exhaust done to it. No under hood pics.

Is there any way to tell if it has a tune on it if the dealer doesn't know ?

https://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/ctd/5614811453.html

Thanks guys !

The underhood pics should give you a better idea on whether or not it is a good buy.

For me personally, the fart can exhaust, shitty smoke job on tails and the plasti dip wheels set off a red flag. But that is because I will not buy a modded car because I have seen the hack jobs.

Definitely take a look under the hood and report back.

Yeah. I agree on that. I didn't realize the smoked tail lights. Hopefully it's not plasti dip put on that thin or that might be stuck like that. Lol

Anything to look for under hood ? I mean bolt wear around intake and what not. Im hoping it has the stock air box. Anything else to really look for that could be modded that would be a no go.

Also hoping it's just the fart can and not the entire exhaust re done. But I feel like a stupid kid couldnt have owned it only because the relatively low miles. But I could be wrong.

I wouldn't get to worried about mods, I would be more worried about the tune if it was moded. Just check around for bolt wear stuff like that or maybe if it still has some mods on. I don't think the tails looks to bad but it's something that can be changed pretty easily. Also it seems like the wheels are plastic dipped, check it out drive it around go wot if possible and see how much boost its running then you can tell stock boost or tune

D-bags like this screwing up my resale price!

I wouldn't say 74K is "low" miles for a 2009, but it's definitely not high either. It's still >10K/year. Like mentioned, you'd have to look at it in person to really know. Those mods you can see are definitely red flags, but you could also be getting an absolute steal for a sedan. There's no way of really knowing with crappy craigslist external pics (or any pics really). You'll also want to see if it's got G85.

I'd about this 2009 but my 2009 was born in August of 2008. Which means it's 8 this year not 7. Sorry for the side track.

Our resale is crushed. At 110k miles my car is worth about $5k

Also remember people on here tend to sell sedan higher than what they worth due to "rare" factor

^This. I'd let my sedan go for the right price, but the right price is about $12K right now. Looks like I'm not selling anytime soon

Okay everyone. Just took a look at the car. It's tuned. And has an injen upper and lower charger pipe. Annnd a cold air intake deep in the fender. Seems like red flags to me. Personally. Also the charge pipe on top seemed to rattle quite a large amount when running. Im not sure if this is normal or what. Exhaust didn't sound horrible. It was only the muffler.

Final thoughts with all that being said ?

It's amazing how fast they came down in 2 years.

Tough considering you can't get a loan for something that's priced way higher than KBB.

So something like 10-12 is out of the question.

Probably has all inJen stuff, I don't like that type of intake personally so that's the only red flag I would see. Chargepipes don't really hurt anything. Maybe you need to tighten something in the chargepipe for it to stop rattling.

The price seems good enough to go for it. Other than that how did it ride? Transmission noises engine noises anything of that nature?

Not EVERYONE needs a loan to buy a car...

KBB undervalues these cars though. Besides, mine is completely stock other than the LDK. Those are getting rare.

I'm not holding my breath on selling it.

Seemed to ride good. Also came with a 2 year warranty from the dealer. What it all covers i don't know but still a nice add on. Exterior had a fer chips here and there. Driver seat had a small cigarette hole. Bothersome. It needed some piece in the dash as well. Where the gauages are. You could see through the dash on the side of it.

Also. I believe the taillights were just very dirty. Lol.

Yeah. It's just i want the nicest thing possible. Haha. Those smaller dealerships always make me second guess things with how sketchy they look. They will just take the cheapest way to rig things to work. And they sell cars so they are evil. Lmao

That's not bad good cars can come from these small sketchy places. But I just have a bad feeling about this one. After going to see it.
