Transmission Noise LNF GMPP
Alright guys, I'll try to explain my issue as best as I can.
Last year I bought a LSJ GMPP clutch for my LNF. I got it installed and the technician noticed that the holes around the pressure plate were a bit bigger than the holes around the flywheel (where the bolts go). He said a little bit of noise could appear. The flywheel was fine and did not need resurfacing. Its a 2010 Cobalt SS TC with 39K.
A couple months after, I would say 3 months, I stared hearing a little rattling sound coming from the transmission. I noticed when going into a drive-thru, it echoed with the walls. It could have started before but I didnt notice it with the music playing etc.
When I press the pedal clutch, the noise goes away. When I release it, it will sometime do it again, and sometimes stop until I press it again and let go. There is definitely something a bit loose in there but before I bring it to a mechanic, I would like to know what you think.
I made some research and it could be the input shaft bearing or the throw-out bearing. It could also simply be the clutch not aligned 100%.
Nothing changed performance wise and it shift smoothly as usual.
Could the pressure plate holes of the GMPP clutch being a bit bigger than the flywheel holes be the culprit? It's not a grinding noise, but rather a regular "tic tic tic" coming from the tranny.
Thanks for your help!

Yeah my TOB has about the same mileage. It sucks though since it's still almost new.
However I watched videos online and my sound is a regular tick tick that goes away when I press the clutch. Ive seen videos of bad TOBs and it sounds more like an irregular clunk.
There is a debate between TOB failure and input shaft bearing failure. Any other insights?
