What is needed to run a Tial BOV?
Alright so looking to get the ZZP intercooler package on their website. I really would like to run a BOV on the my 09 cobalt ss tc (yes I know the stock wastegate blah blah) Can I just buy the kit with the adapter for the BOV and then buy the Tial BOV from ZZP? Do I need anything extra. I do know that you will need a tune for this mod.

hahaha wastegate.
u mean what makes the bypass valve better? the wastegate is to control boost on the turbo.
if u want to run a bov, you will have to get a lower chargepipe from zzp as well which would be in the intercooler package, and the maf relocate extension harness. then ur maf sensor goes into the lower charge pipe and u block off the old port on the intake with the block plate that u get with the charge pipe. then u will have to get someone to tune for the relocate. you maf needs a new tune. then and only then will it work right. also, ull probably want to run a lighter spring on that bov then they give you because the one they have in there is a little stiff, it allows for turbo flutter a bit still. ull need a spring light enough that the bov will probably be open at idle, which doesn't really matter, and if u still using the bpv solenoid for the bov, then it will stay closed at idle.

haha yes bypass valve. Pulled a blonde moment there lmfao! I think I'm still gonna go with the bov. It doesn't add anything power wise but you get to make turbo noises everywhere u go lol.

you can buy zzps kit all you want. theres 2 ways to do this the right way.
Option a: use the search because this topic has been beaten to death here. theres more then enough threads talking about this..
but in all seriousness
option a: you recirculate. you need a tial qr. have zzp weld the flange on their pipe and you will need a bung welded to your intake and you will recirculte the air that blows off back into the intake. no maf relocate needed
option b: vent to atmosphere and will give you the most pshhhh. you have zzp weld on the flange attach your blow off valve to a direct manifold vacuum source. tell zzp you need the maf relocate pipe and extension harness and you will instnatly need a tune
DO NOT listen to anyone that tells you can just slap a bov and vent to atmosphere and tune around it.

A BOV and a Wastegate serve two different purposes. I think you meant "What makes the stock internal bypass valve better?"
If you plan to run the BOV as a recirculating BOV, I would have less issue with it. No reason to vent into your engine compartment and lose airmass during shifts. The stock internal bypass does not appear to be inadequate at doing its job.
Are you wanting to do the BOV just for the noise? I am curious what your reasoning for wanting to do it is. I see a lot of people on here buying superficial mods just for the sake of having more mods than someone else, or because their buddy with an unrelated car has those types of mods on theirs and they want to hang out and feel cool together.
