the lean-ness of the tune i sent you guys was due to my amazeing leaky RFL-BOV

it totally died on me friday night, so i used the wonderful light of a walmart parking lot to pull teh BOV off, re-shim the spring and assemble things back together. thats when i found it it wasent going 100% closed, and leaking boosted air before the maf.

fun.......rite?

heres a snipit of todays fun

its a bit hard to see, but i'm out of maf in 2nd and 8% away in 3rd.....

its time for yet another maf re-tune....see if i cant squeeze some more out of it up top.

my "use maf to avoid IDC jump" tuning is shown in the cyl airmass calc for reference.

damn man, I still don't know why I get that crazy IDc spike, hopefully the new injectors clean it up.
and yeah I really need to get rid of the POS rfl bov I got too... TiAl 50mm ftw.

btw whats your lb/min maf readings come out too?

the IDC spike i used to have, once i bumped the MAF across the board and dropped the commanded PE the spike went away...its got to be related to a PE event trigger past a specific amount.

the maf readings are maxed at 11.1K hrz and 58lb/min in 2nd...and an average of sayyyyyy 8% lower in 3rd.

my re-tune will hopefully lead to a little more room to work with up top....if not, then i'm in for a bitch of a time...tuning a car with no table to support.

I hear that man, I've been trying to do that with the maf, but just got the piping finished the other day, so I really haven't had a chance to really dive into it. hopefully this week I can go crazy on the maf tuning and get this bitch tamed

Wait a minute, you guys are both using RFL BOV's? You know I love you guys (no homo), but WTF are you thinking! Everyone knows RFL stands for Really ******* Leaky!

Paul, that Tial 50mm should be quite a nice upgrade then. I had a shitty ebay one on my Integra I got for free for short period of time until I scored a nice gay purple real Greddy Type-S. That BOV is way better than the old leaky POS one I had.

Also, when was the last time you cleaned your MAF Paul? Just curious, as that CRC MAF cleaner is the ****! It solved my reading problem I had with when I was tuning the twinscrew. A clean MAF is a happy MAF I guess.

No no no, I have the Greddy Type-S not the Type-RS. They are a bit different and the S is actually a bit better.

And yes, the RFL must go for sure! Congrats once again on the numbers though! I loved the video of everyone in there shouting cheering at the 411whp! I've been walking around the shop here all afternoon bragging about your car even to people not even interested in cars! I also called home and bragged about it to my family! My uncle thought that was awesome by the way!

Trix has whcihever one is the gay purple color one lol... but **** sounds pretty damn nice, and he has like 0 lag..... but still got nothing on the top end power of a 60-1.... (sorry mike had to toss that in)

Yeah, Trix's setup is pretty damn nice. I'm sure if he gets a better turbo in the future it will be a dynamite package, but it should be pretty damn good for now.

I swear I was 110% gung-ho on doing a turbo swap as soon as I got back until Mase fixed the twinscrew and started giving me updates on it again! Now I don't know what I'm going to do! I will however still take the snout and blower case off you hands when you have a chance. I know you're busy and probably tired as **** from being up all night, so take your time there. It will have to be shipped to my house anyway as I found out we have no TIG capabilities here which will prevent me from working on it anyhow.

Sounds good. It takes a lot of hate and discontent and time to get these cars dialed in. Look at all the battles I've fought with my damn car. She was never happy for the longest time! Then one day it all came together, and then a week later I deployed to sand box so I can't enjoy it! I swear someones out to punish me!

nice man glad to see you're ditching the stock "intake" manifold.... you notice a nice increase in power everywhere.
also the FMIC does look pretty damn badass on a cobalt

They are indeed Really ******* Loud.

If I decide it's going to be a turbo for the car in the end, I'll either be getting another Type-S or the Tial. Both are quite nice.

This is also something I would do too if the turbo was to be bolted on. I know just the stock manifold with a gutted blower wouldn't cut the cake forever! Modding is never finished, it's just an never ending learning process!

By the way, what did you use for the belt since the blower was removed. I don't think I remember that.
