Mine was pretty bad after a 1/4 mile pass "slip through 2nd and I thought I was just spinning a little bit" but anyways just go easy on it and hopefully it will adjust back up, if not is it still under warrenty?

Just get a better one. Make sure to get a lighter flywheel as well. And MAKE SURE YOU BREAK IT IN RIGHT.

And kick your friends in the nuts... then kick yourself in the nuts.

keep your shifts around 3-4 k for about a week and try not to slip it to much in first when taking off... then get a couple of redline passes .... see what happens

this is why people don't drive my car. my gf has driven my car maybe 3 or 4 times in the 2 years i had the 2.2, and my father drove it once. othr than that, don't htink so. now that i have the 2.0 nobody will be driving it. except chris, (laloosh) he drove it when he looked at it for me. but he knows how to drive.

this is not a good or an easy car to learn on if you have never driven stick before. i would say to have your friend pay for a new clutch, but since you let him drive knowing that they didn't know what they were doing, guess that's on you.

live and learn, that's all.

Even if it is, the dealer could be a complete dick and say that the clutch is a "wearable part" like brake pads and not replace it. Whatever happens, though, good luck, man.

Sorry to hear that man. Sounds like it's Spec 2+ time.

This says it all though.

get a spec 2 clutch, its like 600 maybe, lighter flywheel 350, and install will be about 600-800 bucks

so all in all

600+350+800= 1750, but look on the bright side, if u ever add power to your car you wont have to deal with a stock clutch going out on you

i'd just let it cool off, then nurse it back a bit. i doubt that's it's totally fried, probably just not in as good a shape as it was.

I already learned my lesson letting one of my friends drive my car. He got on it in 2nd and then missed third completely and bounced the engine off the rev limiter. So lesson learned for me and nobody else has driven my car since.

you're "friends" should be shelling out some money with you. didn't you notice right away that they didn't know how to drive a stick?

I can see letting someone drive your car with you in it "coaching" them. Letting them take it un-supervised. That is worse than stupid you should be forced to drive a pinto for the rest of your life !
