07 Cobalt SS/SC Stage 2 Help!!
Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a stage 2 kit installed soon. I called up to 5 dealerships in my area. all but one has never even heard of a stage 2 kit for cobalts. The one that did gave an estimate of 6hr install time at $750.00!!. That seems ridiculous. Also has anyone had a problem with the ECU flash code on the 07 models? I don't want to have some dealership to work on it that has never even heard of the upgrade b4, at the same time to pay $750.00 is crazy. I'm not mechaniclly inclined to do it myslef. Need some advice.

Back in 2007 I had the first one done by my dealer for $850...it's really hard to f up the install...the dealership would have to employ a 2 year old to do it wrong.

it only took me like 2 hrs to do it at most....thing that took the longest was getting the stock pulley off and getting the new hub on, as well as the belt...i would get a zzp stage 3 or ottp stage 2 and save your money man! your gonna wanna upgrade too! i thought stage 2 is all i was gonna do and look where im at now!

Thanks guys for the input. I'll see what i can do. Was just looking at the ottp performance site. Some good stuff on there. I looked at the ottp stage 1 and 2 kit. Both say for off-road use only?? My 07 Cobalt ss/sc(41k miles) is my every day car. Would it be illadvised to put this kit on?

Honestly other than the reflash you can probably just take it to a local shop and have it done for a lot cheaper. especially if you know someone around. the injectors are very simple. getting the stock pulley off can be a total bitch, but if you have the proper tools it's pie. putting the new one on again proper tools.. pie. as far as the reflash dunno what to tell ya there bud.. i got my reflash for free from a friends dad. I am very pleased with my GM Stage 2. It has yet to dissapoint me even against 2.8 kits, could just be the driver mod or the fact that i take care of my car, but GM has heald strong for me. IMO it was well worth the extra $$

If you are not mechanically inclined..... DONT DO IT. You dont wanna to take the risk of ****** it up, or atleast I wouldnt. I am mechanically inclined and my cousin is a super mechanic. We did my zzp stage 3 and I would say it's not hard but not for the novice either. $750 for the install is too much. I would check out the guy in Kentucky.

Get the LSJ Power book, theres links for it on this sight. It gives you step by step on how to install the GM Stage I, II, and III kits, as well has how to do a 300 HP Rebuild, how to change your clutch, remove and install the engine. A great book, worth buying
